Very pleasant house, with a lot of charm perched in a small village above the Allier. Very quiet and relaxing place in a bucolic setting. Well equipped house, very friendly owner with good advice to discover the surroundings.

This house has exceeded our expectations Authentic and attractive, beautiful enclosed garden, everything needed in terms of supplies, clean, beautiful location and phenomenal view. The area is spectacular, the river that runs through the village is very suitable for canoe trips. Furthermore, the area lends itself well for walks and there are beautiful historic villages / churches everywhere. Contact with the owner was also very nice, on arrival a jar of homemade honey and on departure as a souvenir a bottle of local wine. They also have a large amount of tourist information ready for guests. The area is very French and not very touristy, which we found a plus. Recommended!!!

The arrival was overwhelming by Mr. Rivalier and daughters. We were warmly welcomed, we took the time to explain something and we were given a tour. There was a beer, a bottle of wine, homemade jam and honey. It's really a beautiful house, wonderfully located, really everything is there and does it. We really enjoyed the peace and quiet as well as the tranquil villages in the area. Nearby, Brioude is a must, but certainly Puy de Velay. Chilac is a small village where you go to the center to the left, you can enjoy the water and canoeing. Soon a lovely house in a beautiful place, your walks can start from the house ..

The reception was very warmly welcomed by the Rival family. The house is on the edge of the quiet hamlet of Rougeac, with a lovely garden terrace overlooking the valley. The area is less touristy, with the disadvantages of shops and restaurants a little further away, 10 to 15 km. The advantage is that the immediate area is a pleasant and authentic piece of Auvergne.

The reception was very warm. With a bunch of flowers and a jar of delicious honey from our own bees. The operation of the aircraft was well explained.Everything was cracking proprer and there was sufficient kitchen facilities aanwezig.Het cottage is authentic and super cozy furnished. Also provided in the evening with pleasant mood lighting Thanks to the beautiful weather we fortunately have a lot of time to spend in the lovely garden, which offers lots of privacy and with fantastic views and especially lots of peace.Men see on the ruins of St-Ilpize what well worth a visit and right in front of Villeneuf-D "is all the way where you are completely under the surprise of a very old hamlet right on the banks of the Allier. You can also go there in the water. So clear and clean. To Brioude it is 12 km along a good but winding road. There you will find Lidl and a Carrefour and market on Saturday. You must certainly have seen the church there. You pass Vielle Brioude which is definitely worth a visit. Furthermore, we have made some trips because there is certainly enough documentation available in the house for a whole year to wander. Finally, it was a blissful leave for us! A recommended place to stay!

A nice house on the edge of a small village. A beautiful view from the garden over various meadows. And the nearby chateau. Very quiet location.
A 5-minute drive away is a lovely river to cool off. The children can make dams in it. You can also rent canoes there, highly recommended!
The owners are very nice people. They speak French and English.

Great nice reception by father and daughter Rivalier in their lovingly restored and decorated real French house. Beautiful view. At this place you will relax, no rush around you, and just stare at the unchanging hills. Read a lot. Furthermore, a wonderful base to view everything in the beautiful non-touristy environment. We enjoyed!

We have had three fantastic weeks with our daughter of 3 years in Villeneuve de l "allier. Friendly and very hospitable reception from homeowners and their daughter. The cottage is cozy and attractively furnished and fully equipped. The vines around the house make it af.Vanuit the cottage you have a beautiful cottage over the valley and from the cottage there are beautiful walks to make.Ook there are plenty of swimming opportunities along the l "allier. In the neighboring village of La Vialette (about 3 minutes by car from the house) there is a bar, a small campsite and a large lawn where you can picnic and swim in the river. The water is very clear there and provides wonderful cooling with a hot day. Our daughter had a great time in the water. Tip is to go into the water with water shoes because of the stones. A visit to the puy de dome is definitely worth it. The market on Saturday in the center of Brioude is a must. In short, we really enjoyed it and will definitely come back.

Friendly reception. A charming cottage located in a quiet and beautiful area. A nice view from the cozy garden. The cottage was basic equipped but had all necessary amenities. Everything was also very clean. Ideal for a family with two small children. The owners had prepared a stair gate, baby cot and high chair for us.

we were here for two weeks as a family, the reception took some time, we were at the house at the agreed time, but no one was present. We waited in the heat for at least 45 minutes for someone to come.
When we were finally able to enter we were given a range of things to take into account and what not to do.
Showering was a horror, you had to stand in the bath to shower and the water actually sprayed in every direction except down.
the house was very beautiful from the outside, the garden was a real battlefield of yellow grass and dried out bushes, in the living room there was enormous wicker furniture that you could not sit properly in, and after sitting on it I sat under the flea stings.
the bedrooms looked nice, the beds were good, but the floor was as crooked as it could be in some places, getting out of bed took some time to stay upright and the floor creaked like crazy when there was something in the During the night someone had to go to the toilet and the whole house was immediately awake.
shops or bakery or something where you can drink or eat are not to be found for miles, for a sandwich in the morning you first had to drive half an hour by car, there is nothing to do in the entire area, everything you have to do by car do car.
you cannot park the car at the house, you have to park it at the bottom of a huge slope and then you have to climb over a piece of rock to reach the entrance to the house, very dangerous if it has rained or if you have a bit of difficulty If you are on your feet, we have already slipped there twice.
and you have to be very careful whether you get your deposit back, there was a hail storm during our holiday, the parasol was blown to pieces, we had reported this properly and were immediately held liable for the damage, we were not there at the time once present at the house and the parasol was folded as it has always been, we think the owners want to make a profit from it

7 days of the end of April 2016 it was very cold outside (6-8 degrees) and inside it was difficult to get hot (one small electric heater per room). the wicker chairs in the living room crunch really and the first floor is very noisy ( "night to the toilet meant for poor sleepers wake up). The kitchen is pretty donker.Zo were the negatives. But for the rest very hospitable owner (English speaking daughter made it very easy), very nice location, very quiet area, very authentic huisje.De bedrooms were cozy with (especially the 2-person) good bedden.Alles attended very many leaflets \/ books about the area, including our faithful companion the Auvergne Michelin Guide. a lot of kitchen utensils (and perfectly clean). lots of towels. DVD player with a decent selection of DVD 's (also for children). super views. ultimate peace. many fine hiking trails in a map.Fijne supermarket is located in Brioude, 19 KM verderop.kortom a very enjoyable holiday. especially if it is not cold super recommended considering the price.

Great vacation home. It started with a very warm welcome by the manager and his daughter (English speaking). They gave a drink, honey and had put a bunch of flowers with a bottle of water and a bag for breakfast with tasty things. For the dog they had bought a basket of cups and snacks, and even a new toy. The cottage was fully equipped, overzichterlijk with all things exist (microwave, coffee machine (new)). Everything was clean in the house. Nice furnished bedroom fresh. There was also a children's room with crib for a baby. Outside nice lounge chairs with matching cushions also (something you see much). A closet full of 3-speaking guides (ANWB, etc.) of the area and beautiful hiking tours with maps (no old junk). Zellf 2 tons of info. So very complete if you want to explore the area. Beautiful hiking trails directly from the house to the ancient ruins on the other side. Everything in area easily accessible. The cottage is situated on the edge of the mountain and is so pretty quiet. You get the feeling vila Felderhof. In short, a house that we highly recommend and hire again. On departure we got a nice bottle of rose with it!

Peace, good weather and a beautiful setting. These have been the main ingredients during our two week holiday. The house offers plenty of comfort and the necessary facilities were provided. We basically spent every day in the garden, where it was to do "evening fine until eight o'clock. However, we had to get used to the constant hum of the bees and other insects, but here we were actually rarely bothered . Upon arrival we were warmly greeted by the homeowner and his daughters (one also speaks reasonable English). Besides the two bottles of water and the jar "homemade" honey we got, he also had a whole stack of current brochures of attractions and activities in the area for us. Also, there was a handy Dutch book in the house with the sights in the area. example, Le Puy-en-Velay is a nice town to visit for a day and it is also worth go canoeing on the l 'Allier.

Delightful Auvergne for nature lovers, artists, culture lovers. Brioude treasure of a town near the basilica is a jewel, intimate, age, atmosphere, .. not for nothing that this church is the title Basilique! walking unprecedented, Lavaudieu! monastery and castle ruins Plus Restaurant Vine Court, mmmm! ... And not expensive, (Tue and Wed closed). Cottage has qualities but is totally unsuitable for people who are not too easy to move around more themselves.

Spacious, tidy house with large private garden where you can sit and enjoy great views of the fantastic st Ilpize. We ate out every day. The first week very hot, second week much cooler weather but ideal for making mountain biking. From the cottage itself very beautiful but challenging, from nearby Brioude different levels possible, identifies good, very nice routes. In Brioude are mtb 's rent. The owner is very friendly and can perfectly help you on your way to find. Nearby attractions from We have greatly enjoyed ourselves!
