Activities nearby: In the middle of the Thuringian Forest, in the ""WM holiday region"" Oberhof, lies the idyllic mountain village of Oberschönau. It offers approx. 100 km of well-signposted hiking trails and a well-groomed network of ski trails in winter. But sports such as mountain biking and Nordic walking are also popular. Climbers can practice their sport on the Finkensteinen or the ""Twelve Apostles"". High mountains of 800 m surround the place, such as the Hermannsberg, the Ruppberg, the Hohe Möst and the Donnershauk, on the crest of which the Rennsteig runs along. A hike there is rewarded with a fascinating panoramic view and good visibility.
