The cabin consists of a nice living room with a wood stove for cold days, an open kitchen with a large dining table and 4 bedrooms: 1 with a double bed, 1 with a family bunk and 2 with bunk beds. Bathroom with WC, shower and underfloor heating. There is a small loft for the children with a Brio train, DVD player and screen to watch movies (there is no TV). HDMI input to connect to PlayStation etc. The cabin also has various board games for young and old, decks of cards and outdoor games like ring games, frisbee and badminton. The mountain Synnfjell is an eldorado for cycling; you can choose between paths, gravel or saddle roads. There are many fishing lakes, rivers and streams, and if you are lucky, you can catch red mountain trout, whitefish and char. The fjord Synnefjorden is a great place to launch your kayak, canoe or simply take a swim. Spåtind Fjellhotell is about 15 minutes away by car and sometimes has opportunities for horse riding. Both Synnfjellporten and Spåtind Fjellhotell offer various activities, check their websites for opening times and for more information. Synnfjellporten is a cozy restaurant/cafe located about 10 minutes' walk from the cabin. Here you can also buy some basic groceries. It is open mostly on weekends and holidays. Electricity and firewood are included in the price. Guests will need to bring their own bed linen.

In the lake Farrisvannet you have freshwater swimming opportunities right next door. Bøkeskogen is 10 minutes away on foot. There is a boat to Svenner Lighthouse from Stavern 3 times a day. If you want a day at the spa, Farris Bad is the perfect place; here you can treat yourself to a relaxing day of wellness for a fee. The boat departs every half hour and takes approx. 15 minutes. In the beautiful Hanseatic city of Bergen between the seven mountains, you will find tourist attractions such as Bryggen, Ulriken and Fløyen, as well as cultural offerings and restaurants. Askøy is a large island, and from Haugelandshella where the holiday home is located, you can see far out the fjord. It is a quiet and peaceful area where you can enjoy the calm and yet be close to the city. Visit popular attractions such as Herdla Museum, Tveit Church, Fodnes Church and the coastal museum in Øygarden. If you want a more active holiday, you can take great hikes in the area. We also recommend Siglingsvatnet outdoor park in the vicinity which is open all year, there are great hiking trails, lavatories, fire pits, free rental of boats and canoes, a 12-meter observation tower and much more, great for the whole family.

For guests with children, we recommend walking to Dansarsteinen or hiking up to Falkeriset; here you walk on stone paths built by Sherpas from Nepal. Just a 9-minute drive from the cabin, you will find Vierli with summer activities such as boat/canoe hire, fishing, animals, playground, frisbee golf and mini golf. In addition to nature experiences, Rauland offer cultural experiences such as local craft shops, festivals and historic sites.
