Modern Lodge with Private Sauna & Garden Retreat
Escape to comfort in this stylish single-storey lodge at Recreatiepark De Tolplas. Thoughtfully designed and fully equipped, the home features a bright living area with a Smart TV, a sleek open kitchen with a dishwasher and microwave, and two cozy bedrooms with box-spring beds that can be arranged as doubles or twins. Enjoy the luxury of your private infrared sauna—perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring. And for warm summer days, the air conditioning ensures a cool, restful retreat.
Nature, Adventure & Pet-Friendly Fun
Ideally situated near the scenic De Tolplas lake and just 12 km from Almelo, the area offers endless outdoor opportunities. Take your pet on peaceful walks around the lake, or explore nearby trails in the Sallandse Heuvelrug National Park. Many visitors enjoy paddleboarding, dog-friendly cycling routes, and lounging lakeside with their four-legged companions. The spacious garden with a furnished terrace adds to the lodge's charm, offering plenty of room to relax or play fetch.
Dining Options & Local Flavor
While the on-site restaurant is closed from Jan 14 to Feb 6, a curated list of nearby eateries is provided in your welcome folder. Dine al fresco at pet-welcoming cafés in Wierden or enjoy traditional Dutch fare in Almelo’s vibrant city center. Whether you’re after tranquil nature, comfort, or quality time with your pet, this lodge offers it all.
Note: During Easter, the event Hexel on Wheels will take place on Saturday, April 4, and Monday, April 6, next to the park. This is a fun cross-event for both young and old. Please note that the event will be audible from within the park.

The cottage was very beautiful. It was also convenient for the dog. Too bad that everything in the park and in the neighborhood was closed on January 1. But that didn't spoil the fun. Very successful outing.
