A few steps over the old Kolbinger tiles (Beuron Monastery), and you'll find yourself in the middle of the old "smoke kitchen"—now the hallway. This means that for a long time, there was only an open fire. Above it, bacon and everything that was made more durable hung in the smoke. On the ceiling, you can see the soot-blackened original beams, hidden under several layers of insulation, wood, and chipboard, as well as the soot-blackened wall. You can still smell it. Now, off to the living room! There, we found the natural stone wall from 1747 under the old lime plaster—a real experience!
