Several hiking trails and excursion opportunities, for example to Jettegrytene on Sild or to one of the well-known towns along the coast. As well as having the sea right on the doorstep, there are also great opportunities for hikes in the woods, picking berries and mushrooms according to season. Hiking trail to Hisåsen, a fantastic vantage point towards Risør in the east and Lyngør in the west. Right below the cabin, you will find the Sandnesfjord, where there is a 15-foot boat with 25 hp for rent. If you don't want to drive a boat yourself, call a taxi boat and take a trip to Lyngør, Norway's best-preserved little town, or Stangholmen just outside Risør town with concerts in the summer. At Sørlandet Feriesenter, 2.5 km away, there are several outdoor pools in the summer, a ball pit, a large jumping pillow as well as a mini golf course and a playground. Tennis courts at Hope a little further. We recommend a visit to the saltwater aquarium in Risør or the Maritime Museum in Gjeving (15 km), as well as “The Little Zoo” with tropical rainforest on Brokelandsheia, approx. 33 km away. At Nes Verk (29 km) there is a golf course and Ironworks Museum with tours of the Solberg Mine. In winter, there are several cross-country trails in the area, otherwise you can take a trip to Vegårshei Ski and Activity Center, only 33 km away.
