We went to Holwerd with a group of students. Johan was waiting for us and it was fun right away. Ideal home for large groups and lots of fun things to do in the area. Especially the mudflat walking on the penultimate day is highly recommended. Johan thanks.

The house is about 3 km from the ferry terminal to Ameland and therefore very cheap. In the immediate vicinity (100m) there is a well-stocked supermarket. The house itself is old and could do with a few cosmetic repairs in one place or another, but it is functional and offers everything you need when traveling with large groups. There is enough seating both inside and outside, the kitchen is also designed for groups of up to 30 people and offers appropriate cooking / washing and cooling options. The landlords Johan and Maya are also very nice and relaxed, even took care of a private guided mudflat hike for our group. Thank you so much!

On arrival received immediate well guided and equipment had explained. The accommodation was great for us (family of 18 people) very ruim.De area was quiet, it was beautiful weather this weekend, but still a strong cold wind. And that was again great for the kite enthusiast under ons.De little ones enjoyed themselves all day and slept like oxen ....!

We were received very friendly and hospitable by the manager. For the children in our group, all conceivable facilities and lots of toys were available.
The location of the holiday farm is ideal for enjoying the Wadden Sea, but also within walking distance of shops and the old village centre.
The helpfulness of the manager is optimal.
We really enjoyed our week's holiday in the Stelpshoeve!

We were warmly welcomed by Johann, our landlord, and were given a briefing on the house and especially on the great dishwasher, which took a lot of work off our hands. Our landlord was always available for us and approachable. The rooms were simple but functional and everyone said they slept very well. The bathrooms in all rooms were not the newest but were clean and the showers had consistently hot water and very good water pressure. Which is not so common everywhere. Our children were so enthusiastic about the play area and the size of the house that they didn't want to go home. The stairs up were steep, but that wasn't a problem even for the little ones. We enjoyed the super equipped kitchen, in which cooking together for and with so many people was really fun. Johann organized a mudflat hike for us, which everyone loved, especially the little ones enjoyed digging in the mud to catch crabs. A very well stocked new supermarket was a 2-minute walk away, as was a large playground for the little ones. The ferry terminal to the island of Ameland is 5 minutes away by car and it is definitely worth a trip to the island. All in all we had a very nice holiday and really enjoyed our time together.

We were greeted by a very friendly owner. Also a time shift of our arrival time on the evening posed no problem. The owner explained everything, made information about the place ready and the contact to the bike rental. He was always friendly and helpful, the accommodation has everything necessary, a large kitchen with industrial dishwashers and almost every room a private bathroom. The rooms are rustic and not the newest, but they are character and comfortable. The bar we did not use, however the large stay room was optimal for our group activities as common meals, also outside the picnics to eat was very nice ! The owner did not mind that the room was changed according to the needs of the group (long common table, large round of sofas and armchairs). The surrounding area is very quiet and suitable for cycling, also a day trip to Ameland was a great one Possibility, since the investor is only a short distance and can be reached by bike quickly (5 minutes cycling). The people in the place are friendly and open minded. The next beaches and bathing places you have to drive a bit longer, but these are very pleasantly clean, quiet, with playground and pedal boat rental. No 100 m from the house is a small Coop for shopping. Also the large meadows around the house and the sports field in the village could be used by us. In addition, the landlord offers wading tours. There is also a camp fire place just outside the house. The historical cities of Dokkum and Leuwaarden are not far away and very good and fast for a city stroll to reach. Dokkum offers a fascinating history, a cozy little old town and lots of information about Boniface, who was slain here.

We had a great time at this farmhouse! The place was super cozy and really well-equipped for a big family like ours, The kids loved the playground outside, and the location was perfect for exploring the local area, Did some mudflat hiking which was a unique experience! The only thing I’d say is that it could use a bit more seating in the living room for bigger groups, But honestly, would stay again in a heartbeat

Johan received us well and was very hospitable. We arrived a little earlier and had the option to wait inside until they finished cleaning. The accommodation was very spacious and everything was sufficiently available. Johan was available all week for our questions and came immediately if what was needed. We were a large group of girls and had a wonderful week here. We definitely recommend it for groups!

The accommodation is dated, but adequate. The large living room with bar is a real plus, as are the many bedrooms with (almost all) their own sanitary facilities. We have been in cleaner and newer group accommodations, but all in all the stay was very nice and we had a great weekend. minute walk - you only use the accommodation so you have no one to deal with in terms of noise pollution except your own groupPrice/qualityIs fine. The house is not expensive, but I wouldn't pay more for it. (of stone) was now completely filled with our cars. A lawn or the like would be great. Especially for the summer days and the children. - The accommodation and facilities are really old. It still works fine, but I would recommend this in due course - The freshness of the accommodation. It seemed as if there had been no one for a while. All plates etc that were taken out of the cupboard had to go through the rinsing kitchen before we could use it. Welcome was warm and chummy. The owner seems to be a genuine original, with an interesting CV. The rooms were more than simple. A complete overhaul is needed. Kitchen and common areas after a thorough airing o.k. All in all, a thoroughly good price / performance directory. For the price you can not complain.

We got a few weeks in advance of a call from the owner Johan, very friendly and helpful. All questions were answered and nothing was too much. The living room is great, many nooks and a super corner for the smaller and a corner for teenagers. Kitchen fully equipped. . Bedrooms spacious. really a great stay and a super nice owner again! We are definitely coming back next year with our family!

We had a wonderful weekend with our group of friends and their kids. Despite a lot of rain, which of course you can not control it. We could enjoy the house, the area and of course a ride on the ferry to Ameland. The cottage is some noisy, but we did not have too much bother. In the kitchen was a catering dishwasher, which is really fast to do the dishes! The host was very helpful, called 2 weeks in advance if he could do something for us. During the weekend we could just throw on him. He also lives next to the accommodation. The living / recreation room is very large. All photographs' s seems like the different spaces, but it's a big space. In this space a true playground for the children. Had their own stuff they hardly used.
