The castle with castle gardens, the Schwerin Cathedral or the Schwerin State Theater are absolutely worthwhile excursion destinations. However, the best way to explore the beautiful surroundings is by hiking, cycling or inline skating. An almost 15 km long, first-class cycle path leads directly from Dümmer to Wittenburg, where there is also an adventure park with a climbing garden, all-season ski hall, quad track and go-kart track. The state capital Schwerin with its magnificent castle complex is definitely worth a visit.
