This is a historic 5-bedroom holiday home in Saint-Aignan. Built in the 16th century, it is a half-timbered house that gives an authentic rural feel. It is perfect for two families.

The home is located by a lake. You can go to the Parc Naturel which is a 30-minute drive. The rolling hills of the Saosnois and the open fields around Sees and Alencon are a great sight. The area also consists of impressive forests, such Écouves, Andaines, Perseigne, Sille and the Alps Mancelles. You will find restaurants and a supermarket 5 km away.

The floors of the home are heated. The spacious living room and kitchen provide ample space to eat together. The large private garden overlooking the chateau and its estate is the perfect place to relax. There is also a terrace and a trampoline. The home is child-friendly and has a children’s bed and high chair.

The nearest airport is 8 km away.

Our residence is located in a quiet area..Large house with a beautiful garden around the house.A half-timbered house with a bathroom in each bedroom, even 2 with bath..A beautiful view of the castle / country house where you partly look out. nice spacious garden and lawn to play.

Arrival / Reception Despite being too early we were immediately welcomed and guided. The house complied with the descriptions, and despite being part of a castle, all the necessary amenities (dishwasher, washing machine etc.) were present. The immediate area , gravel and forest were good. In addition, there was little living in the village and the surrounding area. During the booking we did not have the right place. At Googelen to St. Aignan in the Loire area, we arrived at St. Aignan at the Cher. Our holiday was largely based on visits from castles. Due to the distance between St. Aignans of about 200 km, we had to drive a lot of extra mileage. You may be able to mention this in your documentation for any subsequent bookers.

We liked: - The calm of the place and the exterior charm of this half-timbered house. - The welcoming and discreet owners. Showed us their castle for free.- The rooms, four of which have bathrooms and WCs, allow a certain intimacy for group holidays. We regret:- The lack of equipment (kitchen & garden furniture)- Quality of the bedding in some rooms.- Webs of dust and spiders to welcome us :-) (House probably not occupied before our arrival). We will keep good memories of the rembuché of Saint-Aignan.

Characterful old farmhouse with all the comforts. Interior is old but fits under no Ikea furniture !! Nice private tour given at the castle. Ideal for a calm and quiet vacation. Good reception by the owner also castle-dweller baron mayor.

Tranquility in a rural area you doing here. A beautifully restored character house, all the furniture really need replacing. Sanitary perfectly fine, cleanliness could definitely be better. Perfect private and friendly welcome.

Tip from the houseowner

During the winter, the wood stove is ready for your arrival. Just crack a match and off you go.

Remember to bring your tennis stuff. A municipal court is at your disposal for free, about 400 meters from the \"Rembuché\".

You can also bring your fishing gear to tease the fish of the castle moat.

And several walks or bike rides are feasible in the immediate vicinity.

But \"the Rembuché\" will be above all your haven for a relaxing stay.

If you want something different, and enjoy a moment of relaxation and tourism, you can:
- Go to the Natural Park (30 minutes). You can walk and cycle, discover the hills of Saosnois and the fields around Sées and Alençon. The region also includes impressive forests: Belém, Écouves, Andaines, Perseigne, Sillé and the Alpes Mancelles.
- Le Mans, 30 km. Le Mans is known for the famous 24-hour race, and you can visit the car museum, but also others like the Queen Bérengère Museum or the Tessée Museum. You will admire the excellent restoration of Old Mans, where many filmmakers come to shoot some scenes. The Old Mans is bordered by the Gallo-Roman wall, which dates from the 3rd century and by the Saint Julien cathedral built from the 6th to the 14th century.
- Alençon, 35 km. The Museum of Fine Arts and Lace and the old town will charm you for a day.
- The Dungeon of Ballon, 10 km. Former fortress at the gates of Maine, the Dungeon of Ballon has been defending on a rocky outcrop facing Normandy for more than 1000 years. Listed as a Historic Monument, it is surrounded by medieval or Renaissance-inspired gardens with collections of botanical fruit trees, ancient roses, clematis, peonies and viburnums.
- The priory of Mayanne, 10 km. The former Priory of Mayanne (XI - XV centuries), classified as a Historic Monument, is a private property located in Dangeul in the heart of the ancient country of Saosnois, in Sarthe.
- The Priory of Vivoin, 20 km. The first church, now a parish church, is dedicated to Saint Hippolyte, and is listed as a Historic Monument since 1840, while the priory is listed as a Historic Monument since 1927.
- Other tourist destinations will be proposed by the owner.
