Borgo Migliorini is nothing short of a magical place. An hidden gem tucked away in the beatiful Abetone mountain, it provided a marvellous frame for our wedding which we hosted here in mid-June. Blessed by fabulous weather, our guests raved about their stay in this cabin and were just mesmerized by the beauty of it all. The cabins are built with ex-novo materials salvaged by the hamlet's owner, who descends from a long line of illustrious artists and put his very soul in the restoration of this hamlet by scattering pieces made by his ancestors over the centuries. If you are not too fussy about things being polished, are a nature lover and rustic is your style, look no further. Great value for money.

Friendly, helpful landlord. Old restored inn, but the garden was a bit nighttime and especially a heating system for the pool because this was really too cold for younger children. The surroundings were beautiful in the mountains / hills, nice fresh to sleep, but a lot of curves when you want to go out.

The house is very old and has many special details. At first glance, it seems good for spending a nice time with a group (we were 13 people). There is plenty of space, long tables for communal dining, and the kitchen is perfect for cooking for large groups. However, there are problems with moisture, especially in the basement, which is why it really smells very musty. We had the windows open continuously to make the smell bearable. In many rooms, you can also see stains from moisture or mold. It gets really uncomfortable when it rains: it rained through the roof in several rooms, and even though the landlord referred to it as "just a little," we do expect the house to be at least dry. Among other things, it rained on a dresser where an iPad was lying, which we were luckily able to save. Instead of taking care of dinner, we spent one evening quite busy running around the house with buckets and pots, mopping up the water with towels. The lower pool was unusable because it was full of algae, and the path to it would also be too dangerous over the slippery stones, and this area also looks unkempt. The shared pool is okay, but because it is very shady, it is quite cold. The courtyard of the house is also not a nice place; it is completely unstyled and dreary. Additionally, there were leaves everywhere, which had obviously clogged a drain, causing the water to stand 10cm deep in the loggia during heavy rain. Then the landlord came to clear it, and we cleaned up the remaining mud the next day. The shower curtains have mold stains, a toilet seat was broken, and the ceiling in the loggia is full of impressive cobwebs - it all just seems poorly maintained, which is really a shame. After the weather changed, it also smelled from the drains, which was quite disgusting. There are dormice in the roof, which are very cute to watch in the evening, but the scurrying under the roof was already scary for the children at night. The landlord is a very, very friendly person, but I would not recommend staying there. In the end, we were really very disappointed with the accommodation.

Migliorini is an enchanting old 'Borgo' situated in a little chestnut forest, well sheltered from the wind and with an abundance of springs. It is located in Piteglio at an elevation of 650 metres. It was formerly owned by the Migliorini family. Located along the historic route from Modena to Montecatini, a village was created here with various inns where travellers and pilgrims could spend the night.
