From the house and terrace there is a magnificent view of the fjord and the mountains. Great hiking terrain for the whole family in a landscape that varies from forested valleys to mountain ranges. In winter, the northern lights can be experienced. Illuminated ski slopes in the vicinity and 58 km to Narvik Alpine Center. Several fishing lakes in the area and small salmon rivers where fishing can be done if you purchase a fishing license. Great starting point for car trips to the coastal towns of Harstad and Narvik as well as Lofoten and Vesterålen. From Andenes, there is a car ferry to Senja, a great round trip. 100 m to the fjord with rich sea fishing, 17-foot Bella self-bailing boat with steering console, 60 hp engine is located at the floating dock in the marina 4 km from the house and can be rented. The boat is available May 1st - October 1st. Good parking space at the house.

Stavang Landhandel is located by the marina and offers groceries, a post office, gasoline and diesel pumps with a card machine that can be used 24 hours a day. The marina also has a nice pub. From Stavang, you can take a trip to Norway's westernmost town Florø. Another popular destination is Svanøy with Svanøy Gaard and deer farm that is well worth a visit. Both Florø and Svanøy are 10-15 minutes from Stavang by boat. In the middle of Stavang, there is an open space with many beautiful historical buildings, such as Haavtunet, Stavang Church and Stavang Marina.

Bathroom with WC, shower and underfloor heating. There is a small loft for the children with a Brio train, DVD player and screen to watch movies (there is no TV). HDMI input to connect to PlayStation etc. The cabin also has various board games for young and old, decks of cards and outdoor games like ring games, frisbee and badminton. The mountain Synnfjell is an eldorado for cycling; you can choose between paths, gravel or saddle roads. There are many fishing lakes, rivers and streams, and if you are lucky, you can catch red mountain trout, whitefish and char. The fjord Synnefjorden is a great place to launch your kayak, canoe or simply take a swim. Spåtind Fjellhotell is about 15 minutes away by car and sometimes has opportunities for horse riding. Both Synnfjellporten and Spåtind Fjellhotell offer various activities, check their websites for opening times and for more information. Synnfjellporten is a cozy restaurant/cafe located about 10 minutes' walk from the cabin. Here you can also buy some basic groceries. It is open mostly on weekends and holidays.
