Great starting point for car trips to the coastal towns of Harstad and Narvik as well as Lofoten and Vesterålen. From Andenes, there is a car ferry to Senja, a great round trip. 100 m to the fjord with rich sea fishing, 17-foot Bella self-bailing boat with steering console, 60 hp engine is located at the floating dock in the marina 4 km from the house and can be rented. Stavang is located on the far north side of the Førdefjorden with a great view of the islands and the sea. You can go by boat in all directions, whether you like small fish in shallow water between the islets or larger fish out in the fjord/sea. The nationally renowned Helleristningsfeltet in Ausvika is well worth a visit. There are great hiking opportunities for mountain hikes with the mountains Vikafjellet in the north, Hornelen in the east and Nova in the south. Stavang Landhandel is located by the marina and offers groceries, a post office, gasoline and diesel pumps with a card machine that can be used 24 hours a day. The marina also has a nice pub. From Stavang, you can take a trip to Norway's westernmost town Florø. Another popular destination is Svanøy with Svanøy Gaard and deer farm that is well worth a visit. Both Florø and Svanøy are 10-15 minutes from Stavang by boat. In the middle of Stavang, there is an open space with many beautiful historical buildings, such as Haavtunet, Stavang Church and Stavang Marina.

The cabin consists of a nice living room with a wood stove for cold days, an open kitchen with a large dining table and 4 bedrooms: 1 with a double bed, 1 with a family bunk and 2 with bunk beds. Bathroom with WC, shower and underfloor heating. There is a small loft for the children with a Brio train, DVD player and screen to watch movies (there is no TV). HDMI input to connect to PlayStation etc. The cabin also has various board games for young and old, decks of cards and outdoor games like ring games, frisbee and badminton. The mountain Synnfjell is an eldorado for cycling; you can choose between paths, gravel or saddle roads. There are many fishing lakes, rivers and streams, and if you are lucky, you can catch red mountain trout, whitefish and char. The fjord Synnefjorden is a great place to launch your kayak, canoe or simply take a swim. Spåtind Fjellhotell is about 15 minutes away by car and sometimes has opportunities for horse riding. Both Synnfjellporten and Spåtind Fjellhotell offer various activities, check their websites for opening times and for more information. Synnfjellporten is a cozy restaurant/cafe located about 10 minutes' walk from the cabin. Here you can also buy some basic groceries. It is open mostly on weekends and holidays. Electricity and firewood are included in the price. Guests will need to bring their own bed linen.

If you prefer fresh water, the lake Farrisvannet with nice swimming opportunities is only 10 minutes away. On the ground floor you will find a kitchen, dining room, living room and a library. Nedrum Museum and the idyllic little town Stavern (9 minutes by car), Fjordstien (550 meters from the house), which is a 9.6-km long hiking trail to Stavern, where you can continue on the Kyststien in Brunlanes, Norway's oldest coastal trail, 35 km long, all the way to Helgeroa. In the lake Farrisvannet you have freshwater swimming opportunities right next door. Bøkeskogen is 10 minutes away on foot. There is a boat to Svenner Lighthouse from Stavern 3 times a day. If you want a day at the spa, Farris Bad is the perfect place; here you can treat yourself to a relaxing day of wellness for a fee. Color Line has daily departures between Larvik and Hirtshals, Denmark. Free street parking right next to the house. Final cleaning is included in the price.
