Day trips by car can be made to the coastal towns of Brønnøysund in the south with the mountain Torghatten which has a hole right through the mountain and is a tourist attraction and Sandnessjøen in the north. A car ferry goes to the island of Vega which is also worth visiting. Good parking at the house. Narvik and Ofotfjorden were central during WW2 with several naval battles; this can be studied in more detail at the war museum in the city. Also take the trip to Senja, where you can take a car ferry to Andøya and a round trip back to the house.
