Here, the Lagan River winds its way around the town, and there is excellent salmon fishing as well as a smokehouse with a restaurant. There are also several wonderful hiking trails on Hallandsåsen. From the E6, take exit 41 towards Mellbystrand, drive straight west for 400 m, through the roundabout, to the T-junction at Kustvägen, turn right/north onto Kustvägen and drive 1 km to Strandhotellet, turn right onto Birger Pers väg immediately after the hotel and drive about 100 m and turn onto Björkvägen. Immediately on the right-hand side is a gravel parking lot belonging to the area. Park as soon as possible after turning onto Björkvägen. Your summer house is no. 2K. For those interested in fishing, both the sea and the Nissan, which flows through the town, offer fine fishing. In Nissan, a fishing license is required. Varberg is best known for its magnificent fortress and museum, with i.a. The box stone man and the bullet button that killed Karl X11. Next to the fortress there is a large newly built fortress bath and an incredibly beautiful Kallbadhus where there are bathing opportunities all year round. Just next door is the fine Societetshuset and a 100-year-old Warm Bath House with a wide range of activities.

If you go south, you will immediately reach the nice summer town of Falkenberg with its fine selection of cafes, shops and restaurants. Here is also the fantastic long sandy beach at Skrea. Another nice excursion destination is the Åkulla beech forests and for those who are technically interested, it is not far to the world heritage site Grimeton. For those interested in golf, there are several fine golf courses nearby, the closest is Varbergs Gk, the western course.
