It is not allowed to park a camper van, which means that there will be more people staying in the house. Not allowed to charge electric cars. There is a guesthouse in Grankullavik that serves food. At the cottage village there is a playground, rafts, docks and rental of bicycles, rowing boats and a tennis court. Here you will live perfectly for just taking it easy but also for exploring Öland. Here are Öland's finest sand and pebble beaches. Don't miss cozy Byxelkrok where you can stroll around among the small shops in the lake cottages in the harbor. There are plenty of fine restaurants and ice cream cafes. Trollskogen is close by for those who want to hike in exciting nature that brings to mind the world of fairy tales. From the balcony at the house's entrance you have a view of the yard and from the more secluded one at the back you can enjoy the view of the extensive meadows. There is also a nice balcony at the front. You have a large, bright family room with a dining area. The kitchen is fresh with modern equipment. The beautiful curved staircase leads up to the upper floor, to the pleasant living room with sofa group. The farm is surrounded by large beautiful meadows and forests with lots of wildlife such as moose, roe deer, deer, foxes and hares. There are many beautiful lakes for swimming in the surroundings, but the nearest lake Oppsjön that you can see from the farm is not a swimming lake. It is about 8 km to the nearest village of Odensvi and here there is a shop, a small cafe and a large, nice municipal beach with a shallow sandy beach, jetties, bathing ladder, playground and outdoor gym. You can rent a rowing boat in Lake Trehörningen, about 4.5 km away, where you can try your luck at fishing or take a relaxing rowing trip. Fine hiking trails, the Tjustleden, as well as cycle paths and a mountain bike course are available in the area (more info: vastervik.com). Between Odensvi and Blackstad is Hängesten, an awesome rock block formation that got its, to say the least, strange place from the Ice Age. Kayaks can be rented at Björkfors kayak rental You are close to exploring the coast, where you can enjoy lovely sea bathing and a variety of lovely resorts and cities. The slightly larger community of Gamleby by the sea is about 22 km away and here there are nice sea baths, shops, restaurants and cafes. Here is also Garpedansberget, an exciting sculpture trail with a variety of sculptures taken from local legends about goblins, nymphs, elves, fairies and dragons. You are also close to the popular Loftahammar, which is known for its nice baths, its beautiful nature and archipelago. A must for the younger ones is perhaps a visit to Astrid Lindgren's World in Vimmerby or Wirum's moose park where you can enjoy the moose up close. Visit the cozy summer town of Västervik with lots of charm, city life, sights and events during the summer. Here you can find the popular Lysingsbadet with nice baths and Gränsö Castle, where you can enjoy a lovely spa day with lunch. From Västervik you can also take the ferry to the islands of Idö and Hasselö.
