Welcome to this charming little cottage in the small village of Kalvshaga. The farm setting feels genuinely Småland-like, with plenty of berry bushes and fruit trees. There is a lovely garden with outdoor furniture and a barbecue. A covered terrace offers a nice place to sit and enjoy your meals. In the living room there is a traditional tiled stove which you are welcome to use. The kitchen is equipped with an electric stove as well as a wood-burning stove, microwave, and fridge/freezer. There is a toilet with washbasin and WC. The shower room is located in a separate annex about 10 metres from the house. On the ground floor there is a bedroom with two single beds. The upper floor has a low ceiling height (approx. 190 cm) and contains three single beds. The villagers share a nice boat mooring, where your boat is also docked. Lake Åsnen is well known for excellent fishing, and fishing permits can be purchased from the neighbour. Four bicycles are available for your use, so take the opportunity to go on a cycling trip to the Bjurkärr nature reserve, the fruit and berry farms on Sirkön, or why not cycle all the way around Lake Åsnen. The area is also a paradise for bird watchers, with species such as osprey, white-tailed eagle and falcon. In Kalvsvik (approx. 4 km away) there is a lovely swimming area with jetties. About 15 km away, at Huseby Bruk, you can visit a castle, an ironworks museum, Naturum, an inn, a café, and a nature reserve with walking trails and a lookout tower.

In Mönsterås there is a slightly larger selection of restaurants, shops, a golf course and a popular water palace. The owner has thought of the lightning in this holiday home, so as much light possible comes in during the bright month of the year, but there are also many different light sources which makes it very accretive even during winter when it is dark. The closest natural bathing spot is by the beautiful river Emån, about 700m away. Here someone has built a swimming area which is perfectly ok for a dip. The closest distance to Emån is approximately 400m and is perfect if you would like to do some fishing (fishing with fishing rod is free). If you would like a bigger beach there is one only 3km away, alternative a 1,5km walk in the forest to the beautiful lake Vallsjön. This is a perfect starting point for discovering most of Småland such as “the world of Astrid Lindgren” and the glassworks. It is also located close to the cities Jönköpnig, Nässjö and Vetlanda. With a bit of luck you see moose, deer, foxes and hares, especially early in the morning. Out it is about 20 km to the coast. Many possibilities for renting a boat, paddling canoe or just swim and roam. Fishing is free in the entire Baltic Sea. As day trips there is a lot to do. Definitely worth a visit the coastal towns of Västervik, Valdemarsvik or Söderköping. All very much picturesque and with many events during the summer. To get to the far end of the sea band with all the islands, you can follow along mail boats that make longer and shorter trips. To the bigger cities Norrköping and Linköping take about 1.5 hours by car and there are big ones here shopping centers and lots to see. A must for the slightly younger ones is perhaps a visit to Astrid Lindgren's World in Vimmerby or Kolmården's Zoo and both places take about 1.5 hours by car. This is a cosy holiday home set on a beach plot by the beautiful lake Saljen. The cottage has a spacious terrace with a panoramic view of the lake, the garden, and the forest. The mine of Kleva is 18 kilometres from the cottage.In the wintertime you can visit the ski runs in Kettilsås, 15 kilometres away.
