Day trips by car are recommended to Vikna where you will find one of Norway's largest archipelagos and where several are bound together by bridges. Out here you will find a rich bird life. The coastal town of Rørvik, which has restaurants and shops, is worth seeing. Here, northbound, and southbound Hurtigruten meet. Also visit the old fishing village Sør-Gjæslingan which is located out in the sea. Sør-Gjæslingan was previously an active fishing village but has been evacuated.
