The surrounding landscape is dramatic and beautiful, with the towering Svartsundtindan mountains rising to 1,050 meters above sea level, their peaks crowned with glaciers. The cabin is tastefully furnished and features a large wood-burning stove in the living room. Satellite TV is available, including German channels ARD and ZDF. From the sunny terrace, you can fully enjoy the stunning scenery. Below the cabin runs the main shipping lane, where you can watch boats and the famous Hurtigruten coastal express pass by twice daily. Nearby lies Trollfjorden, one of the area’s most popular attractions. The region offers excellent hiking opportunities, and at Årstein further south you will find idyllic sandy beaches. Fishing is available in the strait. Two boats can be rented: a 17-foot boat with a 40 hp engine and a 15-foot boat with a 35 hp engine. The boats are moored at a floating dock 500 meters from the cabin. Daily boat rental is NOK 800, season 2025 (fuel not included). Fishing rod rental is NOK 150 per day. Boats are available from May 1 to September 1. The cabin is an ideal base for day trips around Lofoten and Vesterålen. Svolvær is 45 km away, offering shops and restaurants. Nearby Kabelvåg and Henningsvær are also well worth a visit. On Gimsøya, you can enjoy a 9-hole golf course with midnight sun golfing in spring and summer.

On cold days, go for a warm bath in the bath barrel. Be aware of the steep road up to the cabin! During periods of rainfall or snow with limited access for cars, the car can be parked on the access road down by the main road 100m. Go for lovely walks in the mountains around the cottage. 100 metres to the sea where you find the fishing conditions to be excellent. You can rent a motorboat in Digermulen (10km), where you also find shops and restaurant. One double bed is 120 cm wide. Another bed is a bunk bed with a 120 cm wide double bed below and single bed above. Access the third bedroom via the terrace by the entrance. Possible to go fishing by boat with local skipper.
