Leksvik is a hidden gem with great hiking terrain both summer and winter and great opportunities for fishing; boat rental can be arranged with the landlord. In Trøa sports park there is a Disc golf course recommended for both professionals and beginners. Munkstigen (Via Ferrata) is only a short drive away. In Leksvik center you will find shops, restaurants, etc.

The rivers Håelva and Glåma meet a few hundred meters below the cabin with swimming and fishing opportunities in summer. In winter, it is less than 1 km to a ski slope that connects with Røros's slope network. From the cabin, it is a reasonable distance to several alpine resorts: Røros Alpine center Hummelfjell ca. 13 km. and Hamrafjallet/Tannadalen (Sweden) ca. 60 km.
