The Fjone ferry in Nissedal, MF Nisser, takes you across the Fjonesundet between Fjone and Framnes, a 500 m wide strait in Lake Nisser. The ferry connects the east and west sides of Nisser and is part of county road 3380 towards rv. 41, Telemarksvegen. Fjoneferja is Norway's smallest cable ferry and has room for three cars or one truck/bus. Owned by Nissedal municipality, ferry timetables and prices can be found on Visit Telemark's website. Hulfjell family park has animals, a water park, and farm activities, and is a popular place to visit in the summer, approx. 37 km from the cabin.

From the property it is approx. 300 meters to groomed ski trails with ski-in-ski-out that take you to the trail network in two directions. The machine-groomed trail network stretches from Norefjell, Tempelseter, Høgevarde and the Haglebu area. Himmelriket is an easy walk that suits most people. It is 45 minutes to drive in the direction of Åmli to Jettegrytene in Nissedal. 45 minutes to Fyresdal (gravel road over the heath) to the famous Hamaren activity park and Tretoppvegen. 1.5 hours to Dalen in Telemark where you can follow in the footsteps of the Rui girls, enjoy a lunch at a historic Dalen hotel or jump on the boat to Skien along the Telemark canal. It is only a 1-to-2-hour drive to the pleasant towns of Kragerø, Risør, Tvedestrand, Arendal, Grimstad and Kristiansand. The cabin is not rented out to youth groups.
