In winter, the northern lights can be experienced. Illuminated ski slopes in the vicinity and 58 km to Narvik Alpine Center. Several fishing lakes in the area and small salmon rivers where fishing can be done if you purchase a fishing license. Great starting point for car trips to the coastal towns of Harstad and Narvik as well as Lofoten and Vesterålen. From Andenes, there is a car ferry to Senja, a great round trip. 100 m to the fjord with rich sea fishing, 17-foot Bella self-bailing boat with steering console, 60 hp engine is located at the floating dock in the marina 4 km from the house and can be rented. Pleasant holiday home in the heart of Gratangsbotn, 35 km north of the city of Narvik. The house is surrounded by a large wilderness area, ideal for hiking in the forest and mountains, and fishing in the many lakes. Great skiing in winter, 35 km to Narvik alpine slope. Great starting point for road trips. Built in 1924 and renovated in 2024, the house is a pleasant holiday home with a nice kitchen and bathroom. 3 bedrooms on the first floor, each with a double bed. The house, which was originally a small farm, is located by Gratangsfjellet, a large mountain and wilderness area great for hiking in all types of terrain, including mountain peaks. Great fishing in the fjord and in many lakes and rivers. 7 km to the nearest ski slope with lights, 5 km to Øse with alpine center. In winter, there are ski slopes here. On Storvannet by Øse there are opportunities for Kiting. By Narvik, you will find one of the roughest alpine resorts in Norway. On days and nights with good weather, you can experience the northern lights in the polar sky. Good starting point for day trips by car. 60 km to Harstad/Evenes airport. Visit the North Norwegian Boat Museum in Gratangsbotn with a collection of old boats and fishing gear. During the WW2, Gratangsfjellet was a battlefield, and there are several memorials on the mountain. Narvik and Ofotfjorden were central during WW2 with several naval battles; this can be studied in more detail at the war museum in the city. Also take the trip to Senja, where you can take a car ferry to Andøya and a round trip back to the house.

At Lyngseidet, there is a slalom slope as well as ski and snowshoe hire. Many family-friendly hiking trails in the immediate area. From the holiday home, you can walk along a tractor road into the forest and along an unmarked path to Jægervassåsen (365 m). Idyllic nature with forested moors, beautiful pine heaths, gushing rivers and steep peaks, as well as rich wildlife. Other attractions in Lyngen include the Sherpa ladder at Lyngseidet, Aurora Spirit Distillery in Årøybukt and Husky safari at Bentsnes.

Hiking trails a short distance from the house to Kjølen (easy), Vintersetgropa/Isvannet (medium) and Nuovasgaisa (difficult). Oksfjorddalen with a road to the disused Vaddas mines is recommended, and to continue on foot over the suspension bridge to the waterfall Vaddasfossen and hiking trail to Luovossskaidi (606 m). The nearest fishing pond is 1,500 m from the house. The river 500 m from the house has salmon. Remember fishing license! Great outdoor activities with picnic shelters and campfires. Northern lights and the evening sun can be enjoyed from the gazebo sheltered from the weather. The midnight sun is best experienced from Kvængangsfjellet, and in winter the Northern Lights can also be seen from the yard or veranda. In winter, you can go for long ski trips on snowmobile trails in the area or use the illuminated trail close to the house. Longer cross-country skiing and light trails can be found at the Saga ski stadium, Storslett. On request, the homeowner can offer whale watching in December-January. The boat is 35 feet and registered for 8 people. Price NOK 5,000 + NOK 1,500 per person for more than 4 passengers (to be booked in advance). Yamaha in Sørkjosen offers snowmobile tours with a guide. In Reisadalen you can hire a riverboat or canoe with or without a guide, and dog safaris in winter.

Pleasant cabin with a fantastic 180 degree sea view. Ideal for experiencing the northern lights and midnight sun. Rebbenesøya is an island at the far end of the sea gap with fantastic nature and a rich wildlife. There are approximately 50 permanent residents on the island in addition to many cabins/holiday homes. Several daily ferry connections (Mikkelvik – Bromnes) make the island easily accessible by car, 1 h 45 min journey time by car including ferry from Tromsø airport. Daily bus connection on weekdays. The 45 m2 cabin was built in 2011 and has two bedrooms, a living room with an open kitchen and a large loft accessible by loft stairs. Cozy living room with wood-burning stove, Wifi, and TV accessible via Chromecast. The bedrooms have double beds. In addition, there are places to sleep for two on a mattress on the loft. The loft has a height of 1.28 m in the middle. There is a grocery store in Engvik in the south of the island, 11 km from the cabin, and a summer cafe just 400 m north of the cabin. The area has a rich fauna, and you will be able to experience reindeer up close. Parts of the island are landscape protection areas due to nature, wildlife, and geology. There are many hiking options, from easier hikes in the lowlands, e.g. to Bromnes-Toftefjorden, and to well-marked hikes to mountain peaks such as Storfjellet 431 m, Løkstinden 450 m and Helvetestinden 674 m. There are lavvo and gapahuk which increase well-being by being out in nature even when the weather is not at its best. There is plenty of fish in the sea around Rebbenesøya and possible to fish with a rod from shore. In winter, you can experience nature on skis or with snowshoes. Great year-round cabin with a high standard, located in beautiful nature an hour and a half from Tromsø. Here are good opportunities to experience the northern lights from the outdoor hot tub. The cabin was built in 2009 and modernized in 2015, i.a. with its own lounge section and sauna. Here you will find a jacuzzi, good storage space, nice outdoor and hiking areas. Shops and places to eat can be found a short distance away. The cabin has plenty of beds with two large bedrooms on the first floor and a large bedroom in the loft. In addition, there are two beds in the atmospheric annex. There is a living room with fireplace heating, as well as a living room in the loft as well. There is a TV screen that you can connect to your PC, remember the hdmi cable. It is mod broadband, so the connection can be unstable. Bedroom 1 has a double bed. Bedroom 2 has a family bunk, lower bunk is 120 cm wide. Bedroom 3 in the loft has two wide beds, here is a sloping ceiling. Maximum ceiling height is 175 cm.
