Gut Heistert is a former hotel with all facilities still intact (i.e. bar/restaurant, breakfast & play room with pool table, fully equipped industrial kitchen and sauna). 8 bedrooms, all with their own en-suite bathroom. The layout of the accommodation with different spaces means it is quite easy to find some peace and quiet while others are in a more "active" mode :-)
We stayed at Gut Heistert in February 2023 and had a fantastic time. Very quiet location, supermarket and bakery are available at 5 minutes drive. Due to the time of year, we did not use the outdoor facilities very much, but there is lots of space! Beautiful hiking paths for everybody from toddler to die-hard hiker starting right at the front door.
The Janssen family is very welcoming and accessible, and very quick to solve issues if they should arise during the stay. In our case, the previous tenants had damaged the footsie-table (kicker), putting it out of use. A new one was found and delivered a couple of days later. great service!
The house was very clean!
Should the opportunity arise again in the future to organize a holiday with a similar group, Gut Heistert would definitely be on the short-list.

We had a great weekend in the property. The house is in very good condition and very clean. Everything is there that is needed. The landlord is very friendly and helpful! We can absolutely recommend this accommodation for large groups !!

Nice old guest house lonely on the edge of the forest. On the ground floor a large bedroom and large living / dining room and catering kitchen with plenty of dishes, pots, pans, etc. Upstairs 7 rather small bedrooms, all with bath / toilet / shower. In the basement restaurant room with 6 permanent guest islands, bar and table football. Behind the house there is a small playground, a small football field and a paved courtyard. Everything clean and well maintained. Very good with young children. The house is not badly soundproofed. Attention with small children: Baby monitor reception is sometimes sufficient. not from the bedroom to the living room: "Extension" with a second baby monitor makes sense! We (10 adults, 6 small children and dog) spent a nice week of vacation in self-isolation under corona conditions :-)

Great vacation! It was an unforgettable weekend in a great, very well equipped house with great surroundings. The nature right in front of the door is like a painting. Landlord also very nice and reliable. We recommend!!!

This place is a whole vibe! Super spacious for our squad of 10, with enough rooms for everyone to chill, The sauna hits different after a day of hiking in Eifel National Park, BBQ area was lit for our evening hangouts, Definitely coming back!

It was a beautiful house with lots of space to do fun things, the house was remote from the world and so there could be no nuisance to the people. The landlord was friendly and told well what was and was not allowed. All in all a great stay!

A very nice holiday home with friendly welcome. Everything was neat, the only thing that was very annoying were the many flies in the house. We had to be out of the house at 1000, but the owner, together with some others, was at 915 at home to check everything. Unfortunately this was very rushed.

One drawback is that there is a military training ground nearby, where a lot of practice is being practiced. One and a half day with great dreams, until after midnight and a piece of nature that you can not enter on days of practice, is the result. Nature also suffers, there was no animal to see.

Very nice house, absolutely quiet environment. Outside, therefore for all errands car necessary. Walks through field / meadowscape directly from the house. The cultivated garden with barbecue place we could not use weather, is in the summer but very nice.

Just back from a few days to enjoy in Monschau. We rented the house with 16 friends. Downside was that not all the rooms were open, so had to sleep together my daughter 18 years with the son of friends. This we are not so liked. Otherwise everything was okay.

Along with 16 friends we have made it a top weekend in Gut Heistert. The interior is quite dated, but part of the charm. The "house" was neat and clean everything was present. Great for all types of groups by the number of bedrooms and suite. Minus points were the cleaning costs € 200 for a weekend is a lot, especially since the cleaning of the fireplace costs € 8 per extra hard. The wood was pretty expensive € 10 \/ basket. € 1 \/ glass etc was also charged, will normally guts as ordinary use and is in the "rent" unless it is something very expensive, from there a deposit everywhere had a great weekend, we are still out whether we again this house will choose.
