We had a very nice week in the house in Rahier. Despite unpredictable weather, even with wet snow showers, we had a great time. The heater is certainly a valuable addition (especially with much higher energy costs than we are used to in the Netherlands) and once you understand how to operate it you have a cozy warmth in the room without having to sit in the smoke :) The area is very beautiful, you can easily walk into the forest with your dog. Our dog thought the fact that the house is located directly on a river was the icing on the cake! The house is fully equipped, truly a home away from home!

Lovely cottage. Quiet environment. You walk straight into the woods. Beautiful walking area. Deer and beavers to spot. Wood stove takes some getting used to. Keep the door on the side slightly open, then there is sufficient draft and you prevent smoke in the room. Furthermore, everything is heated electrically (including the sauna) so be careful because the consumption must still be settled afterwards.

It was just a short weekend in this beautiful and cozy house. A pleasant environment and lots of peace.
A babbling brook in the garden and a warm wood stove to complete the winter feeling.
Directly behind the house a gigantic nature reserve with lots of walking possibilities. Our dog enjoyed it.
The hostess José was super sweet and provided all the information we needed.

Warmly received and a full tour of the house. Beautiful house in a very quiet area, large bedrooms and fully furnished. The wood stove gave the extra warmth and cosiness. Just a pity that the previous visitors had switched off the heating in the bathroom, it took 2 days before the accumulation heating was back on point (higher electricity consumption). Otherwise a nice location with lots of options.

Vriendelijke ontvangst, schoon huisje, verwarming heeft meer dan voldoende capaciteit ook in de winter, matrassen zijn goed, en de sauna werkt goed (wel in de winter ook de verwarming in de relax-ruimte voor de sauna even aanzetten)
De houtkachel is wel wat lastiger om goed te laten branden, hij krijgt iets te weinig aangezogen zuurstof. Wat werkt is dan de glazendeur niet helemaal te sluiten maar op een kleine millimeter open te laten staan. Als je een blok hout tegen de sluithendel plaatst kan je de zuurstof toevoer goed controleren zonder dat er rook in de kamer komt. De houtkachel geeft wel een hoop fijne warmte.
Zoals in alle huisjes die ik de afgelopen jaren hebt gehuurd zijn de anti-aanbak-lagen van de koekenpannen wel wat beschadigd. Ik neem altijd een goede koekenpan zelf mee (inductie). Andere pannen/servies zijn er genoeg en van goede kwaliteit en compleet.
De sauna verbruikt natuurlijk veel energie dus de energie kosten kunnen oplopen maar de uiteindelijke rekening viel mij mee. En de resterende borg ontving ik heel snel weer terug op mijn rekening.
Mooie wandelen direct vanuit het huisje en mooie wandelroutes vanuit Monthouet, iets boven Stoumont.
Het was een heerlijk comfortabel, ontspannen en zeer rustig verblijf van 11 nachten, eind januari, 2 personen.

The calming, babbling brook right next to the house is an added value. Connection to hiking trails directly at the holiday home. The wood stove requires specific attention when lighting but is super cozy once "good going" ...

Nice house, not too luxurious but everything is there. Wonderfully quiet location and a place to really relax. You can walk straight from the house into the woods and the supermarket and restaurants are about 10-15 minutes away by car.

We received a warm welcome. The cottage was very cozy, quiet and cleanly cleaned. Only it was so cold inside that we had to turn on the heating. Also a pity that the chocolates we received as a welcome were expired ... Right next to the house is a large forest. Ideal if you have dogs with you!

It is a very nice and tidy house with spacious bedrooms and a spacious bathroom. You can sit very nice in the "forest garden" with the sound of a running stream in the background. The house is also nice and cool.
Tip is to bring a fly swatter and a tarp for the table that is made of glass.

Positive fantastic location for lovers of peace and nature. Beautiful house with lots of comfort, well furnished, large rooms, sauna very pleasant. Negative What annoying soot odor that lingered even after ventilation and no large bags, but that would be taken care of.

Nice, carefully furnished house, beautifully situated on a babbling brook. From the spacious garden you can walk straight into the woods. Inside it was clean, nice kitchen and spacious bedrooms. The sauna also works well. Despite the rain we have made nice walks. Downside is the wood stove, it does not work properly and the first evening we were in the smoke. Then no longer lit.

Nice house but more something for the summer because of old and not isolated and therefore very cold floors, cold near the windows etc. Our sheets felt ice cold when we crawled into bed. Mattresses should actually be replaced. Fortunately fast and nice warm water. Kitchen equipment barely sufficient. After contacting the owner we did get extra wine glasses and coffee spoons immediately. The sauna certainly did us good after our winter walks.

Spent a midweek in this house with a family of five at the end of February. The location of this house is great: an idyllic stream through the garden and a beautiful forest (with a beaver lodge!) directly behind the house. Also plenty to do in the area.
The house is clean, the WiFi perfect and the beds are good. But the biggest disadvantage is that the house is very cold. You can heat it up but then you have to pay a lot afterwards. The wood stove has worked overtime with us. This makes the cottage very uncomfortable. The sanitary facilities are also in need of modernisation. The sauna works well and is nice and spacious. But even here you can feel the cold on the ground.

The cottage is as in the photos. Bedrooms are spacious and beds goed.Op itself clean, but if people with a dog have just sat in it, you can smell it. And visibly also picking dog hair in the garden. it is minimal and tatty, in terms of glassware and coffee cups not suitable for 6. Pans etc really need to be replaced.The glass plate on the table is not nice, so take a tablecloth with you. From the house you can easily pick up walking routes. is a beautiful area!

Beautiful cottage with fantastic garden for children (play house with slide, swing, river, ...) Nice area too for walking: Fort Palogne is highly recommended, as well as the Treasure Hunt Museum on 44 in La Gleize.

Located in Stoumont, this pet-friendly holiday home with 3 bedrooms is ideal for a group of 6 people or families with children to stay enjoying the sauna and electric heating.
Explore Rahier at 500 m and Stoumont at 6 km. You can explore the beautiful place by hiking and mountain biking. There are many attractions to explore like Coo, Sunparks in Vielsalm, Stavelot, and Spa. During winter you can enjoy cross-country and ski slopes. All basic facilities are nearby and you can reach restaurants and supermarkets at 6 km and the town center at 500 m.
The fireplace in the living room and the electric heating will keep you warm. An air to air heat pump is also provided. The terrace is perfect to relax in the evening.
