The house itself is completely fine. We do find the house a bit dated compared to the description. The shower is downright manageable. You are not staying on a beautiful estate, as the description says. The cottage is in the owner's yard. There is little privacy. The owner has two large white shepherds and they run loose, including the grounds of the cottage. They are friendly, do nothing and yet it is a bit crazy. We enjoyed French charm, but again: the description and the photos on the Belvilla site are in need of an update.

Superb cottage on farm. Beautiful walking area. Everything you need is in the house. The downside remains the shower. Fantastic owner which really helped us during the holidays is when we got a serious health problem. Advice to travelers make sure you're the French language, are at least well served by all the right address and insurance details to hand.

The cabin was equipped with every possible electrical device so that was convenient for cooking, clean, nicely decorated, ideal for hiking in all genres, trips to larger cities also doable, baker 15 'walking distance, anyway we enjoyed!

House is a typical French style. Large cozy kitchen, small lounge where you can sit well with 6 adults, but children or pets playing or not fit anymore. We were there with the Christmas holidays. There are no curtains so there was quite a bit cold by the windows, with wind and frost, the farmer is to make curtains. We have great meaning to us had pretty well marked hiking trails directly from the cottage, 5, 7, 10 or 12 kilometers. Nice excursions to Balon d'Alsace, Gerardmer and La Bresse where much snow, even though it was too hot. Val d'Ajol 5 km has an Inter-March, Super U and Aldi also some nice little shops. In Girmont itself is a bakery with artisan bread. We will definitely come back.
