Very nice landlord and friendly staff. The location of the holiday home is ideal for travelers with a dog, as it has a large, securely fenced garden. I would have wished for a bit more cleanliness in the kitchen; otherwise, everything is fine.

Lovely house! Friendly welcome by the owner and a warm farewell by the cleaning lady. The house is located in a beautiful hiking area, with spectacular rock formations and caves. Recommended!

We were really happy with our "small" holiday home.
Fully equipped kitchen (no dishwasher, but that was/is not important to us).
Cozy wooden cabin atmosphere including a great terrace. Beautiful garden with its own narrow access to the white Saar, beautiful garden in which we could let our dog run around freely thanks to the complete fence.
Uncomplicated handling (e.g. key handover on site, explanation of the most important things -> conversation only in French)
A little tip:
Pack anti-tick medication, tick card or similar and don't forget the TBE vaccination, as the very wooded area is, in our experience, very prone to ticks!
Our conclusion: unreserved recommendation!

Clean chalet, certainly sufficient kitchenware and household goods, located in a beautiful wooded area with many hiking opportunities, river at the back of the enclosed garden, a nice refreshment in the warm weather, only downside is the bakery and shop is not next door, a friendly welcome and a bottle of cold from the owner, certainly passed for us

We had to wait a while on arrival for a lady who represents the interests of the owners. Madam did not speak English and we did not understand France, but the explanation was fine. Corresponded with the owners via SMS only. The cottage is exactly as in the pictures. A small wooden house with a veranda. Downstairs one double bedroom, living room with two lounge chairs and a table with 4 chairs, good working full kitchen and a small but good working shower. Via a narrow staircase there are 3 single beds upstairs. HAPPY with the air conditioning that was there, however, it has to go outside with a hose so you can bring in many insects again. It is very secluded, perfect for a week of rest. If you want to do more than only walking you have to drive at least 1 hour for activities. Surroundings and villages seemed uninhabited, supermarkets / bakeries difficult to find. The road in front of the house is indeed. loved by motorcyclists (rightly so), but can be experienced as annoying because of the noise. Less were the insects that came after sunset which made it uncomfortable on the veranda. The chairs on the terrace are not of top quality and have no cushions. The dining room chairs also come with a n wooden butt of. We have been to Straatburg (recommended), the lake Pierre-Percée, electric mountain biking in Gérardmer and there to the village / lake. Also to the small lake in Abreschviller, but that was not the case. We were allowed to make a fire on the property and use the wood from under the veranda. That was great fun and here we were hardly bothered by insects. Anti insect spray is nice to have with you. WiFi was perfect! It is special, if you have patience and can stay awake for a long time, watch out for the deer that come to eat on your property. Also driving around in the area at evening / night you have a chance to see many deer. We enjoyed the freedom, the house and nature.

Great place to stay as a couple with a dog. Very small place, but it is very well equipped. When the sun is out, you can enjoy the big south-facing terrace, when it gets cold you can heat the wood burner (it gets very hot very quickly). Our dog had fun in the big garden, with the neighboring dogs and the private access to the brook under the nearby hill, as well as all the smells of wildlife (wild boars foraging in the neighboring woodland, occasional deer viewings). Plenty of walks all around, from the Saint Quirin hiking area starting right across the street to the Donon hike at a 20-minute drive, Lac de Pierre Percée and many more tourist attractions either with or without dogs. Shopping requires a short drive, as well as restaurant visits. The only downsides for us were the mattress on the big bed (needs replacing, not for weak backs) and the fact that the traditional oven was (temporarily) out of order.

The cottage is basic but everything is there what we needed .. In addition, relax on the veranda with a cozy picnic table and chairs for if you want to sit more comfortably. We especially enjoyed the large garden where our dog could run and sniff. Which we could literally throw a ball in. Completely securely fenced. Occasional friendly sniff contact with the neighboring dogs. The stream is also very nice to cool off and play in. Many walks in the area. The tourist points are a bit further away. For us, this house is highly recommended .. If you have a dog, do not need too much luxury, like walking and rest, then this is the perfect place.

We are nicely received by a young lady who represents the interests for the owner. The house is not big, but cozy, and is fully equipped. It is a typical wooden bungalow, with a bedroom downstairs and an upper floor with a further 3 beds. If you are looking for peace, you are perfectly here. The only thing you ever hear is a motor or a car that slowly passes by. The road is very popular with tour drivers (motor). opposite the house you walk into the woods, where div. Hiking trails begin. The rest of the area is also highly recommended for walking or cycling! I would also like to emphasize that the Wi-Fi was perfect! (nowadays really indispensable) our dogs have also enjoyed themselves here in the large enclosed garden, and have a nice cooling off in the river behind the house. All in all a successful holiday!

Rustic house with a large, fenced garden. Very quiet, only on weekends do quite a few motorcycle tourists pass by. Note about the TV: It has a SCART connection for a DVD player, no HDMI. In case you want to bring and connect a DVD player. Very nice area for hiking, also with a dog. However, you won't find the picturesque Alsace villages and wineries here. They are located further south in the greater Colmar area.

You can walk from the house, but not for beginners. Beautiful area for walking. Giant supermarket in Sarrebourg. TV is now a nice flat screen (with 1 HDMI input) and the internet is very good. Garden is well fenced, our dog could scratch independently.

Hardly any welcome upon arrival; impression is that the owners are not interested in their residents. The house is just like that; a little faded glory, unfortunately. House is much smaller and sloppy than on the photos of the BV site.

Very nice cottage with cozy garden and lovely river where it was nice to cool off after a nice walk. Hikes start across the road and are very well indicated. There were even Dutch books in the house. Well had a lot of flying (take a fly-flyer). Owners very friendly.

Upon arrival, the house was well heated with the wood stove. Sufficient wood present, but no problem when asking for more wood. Was brought directly. For hikers (some practice is a pre) an ideal setting with very extensive routes. From narrow mountain paths to fairly wide gravel paths. All in all, a small but cozy house where we could walk very well with the dogs. We had a lovely very quiet New Year's Eve (1 bang).

Simple house with basic comfort, in a quiet area, during the weekend many motors and cycling tourists. Nice, spacious garden, and for the children the river is an ideal steak. Starting point hiking and cycling trails in a few meters. In the woods you can spot deer and wild boar regularly, lizards and even a snake ... Recommend for a week "at ease".

What a lovely area for walking, over 700km of hiking trails and directly from the house! Gorgeous fenced garden with shady trees and a lovely stream at the end. The house itself is simple, the cooking plates are difficult but with some improvisation it works. A real minus is the road at the back of the house, lots of freight traffic and engines that do not expect you in such a beautiful and sparsely populated area, a pity.

A simple but nice cottage in a beautiful natural environment. Nice large garden. Nearby are several walks. Also made fun walks from the village 8 km away. The first necessity for life is available in the village. Very refined French restaurant in the village.

Chalet
This small chalet in Turquestein-Blancrupt features comfortable bedrooms and a beautiful location, at the foothills of the Massif du Donon (14 km). It is ideal for a family and your pet is also welcome, provided you keep a close eye on keeping everything tidy. The elevated terrace is a great place to relax. The Donon is a mountain with an orientation table at its highest point (1009 m) with panoramic views of the pine forests. You are staying here in a perfect hiking environment with more than 700 km of marked trails! In Abreschviller (20 km) there is a swimming lake with a small beach. For a larger lake with water sports facilities, go to the recreational lake near Pierre Percée (36 km). A bakery and supermarket can be found in St Quirin. For larger supermarkets and more facilities go to Sarrebourg (29 km). The simple but practical chalet is located in a quiet, nature-rich spot. It features a large garden with a path to a mountain stream that flows about 50 m from the house. The perfect place for a picnic. The children have fun building dams here.
