The two of us have been staying in the Vista Maravilla for a few weeks every year since 2015 and fly to Malaga.
The welcome from Pepe is always warm and everything was perfectly fine again. The view is formidable and the tranquility wonderful. The swimming pool is also very pleasant. The villa is equipped with every comfort. An extra two-seater in the salon would be welcome. Now there are two.
Access ---
If you take the mountain road via Algarrobo, it is not only shorter but also better. It remains a narrow road but everyone is courteous. We have a lot of experience driving in the mountains and can recommend the two golden rules: "easy does it" and keep the same speed going down as going up. While descending, you can set the automatic to manual to save the brakes (engine braking).
Rental car ---
Choose one that is a little higher on the road (an SUV). We always take an automatic because it is more pleasant to drive. It certainly does not have to be a 4x4 unless the car is fully loaded (e.g. 5 people + luggage). There are plenty of gas stations downstairs and there is also a gas station in Arenas itself (Repsol).
Shopping ---
In addition to the shops in the picturesque Arenas, there is a very large supermarket downstairs, namely Eroski. You will encounter this next to the motorway on the way to the villa. So when we arrive, we always drive past there first to do our first shopping.
Restaurants ---
You will find plenty of them along the coast, some on or on the beach, others in the villages. We always choose Spanish cuisine. Highly recommended: Bahia Beach Jazba (Torre del Mar).
To get off ---
Puerto Banús, the harbor of Marbella. A mini Saint-Tropez with beautiful yachts, world brands shops, many restaurants and bars ...
A little further afield you have the art cities of Seville (185 km) and Cordoba (200 km) inland. You can also visit Gibraltar (190 km). It is best to allow a whole day for these trips, given the distance and travel time (by car

We were received by Pepe in the village and then followed him to the house. My partner speaks and writes Spanish well and that helps with calling and calling. A lot is written on the site about that road. If you see photos on the site with that amazing view, then you understand that you are on a mountain and that the road to that house is not a dual carriageway. But it is easy to do and largely paved (concrete) There is, incidentally, another route that is also easy to do. When you drive back from the house, go straight ahead where you would turn left. There is a pole with a plastic bottle on the left side of the road as a marker. The accommodation is fantastic. Spacious, modern and wonderful swimming pool. And then that view. Awesome. We also read on the site that kitchen inventory was limited. That apparently helped. Very extensive inventory. Even a cheese slicer. Everything was clean. The hard beds we found excellent sleep. On the last day we only discovered a storage room with all kinds of extras. From cool box to high chair, extra mattresses, etc. In the immediate vicinity there is not much to do. To the beach at torre del mar is 25 minutes drive. Beautiful beach, fast deep sea. We also drove around a lot and visited places in the morning, had a nice lunch somewhere and then back to that lovely house, swimming, watching the sea, and in the evening first a beautiful sunset and then a beautifully lit Velez-Malaga below you. We have had a wonderful time and can heartily recommend this house

The road to it was ready to swallow ff creep-by-stealth-through road from Arenas. Luckily there was another route to the coast that went a bit quicker, but not for people with vertigo. After a few days accustomed route well and it was home, despite not quite tip-top shape, a haven of peace! Highly recommended for those looking for peace and not fear me for a mountain route. A 4-wheel drive is recommended, but we came up with our rented Ford Focus there too!

This house truly stands out for its location and views – absolutely spectacular! Access & Surroundings: Although some say the road is difficult, we didn’t find it so. From Algarrobo Costa, (do not try other ways for the first approach! listen to us) it’s just a 15-minute drive on a paved road. The last 2 km are steeper, but still manageable. The driveway is wide and easily accessible, with space for several cars. Interior & Comfort: The house feels fresh, Scandinavian in style, very clean and well-equipped. It is tastefully decorated with care, although the sofas are on the small side. Terrace chairs look neat but are of poor quality. Kitchen & Facilities: The kitchen is well-stocked with cutlery, plates, and cooking utensils. Good frying pans and a very fast induction hob are provided, though there are no small saucepans (with just 2 persons just 6-8 liter pans is too big). There is 1 small new and good working air-conditioning unit near the kitchen seating area. But every room has a good, quiet new fan. Unfortunately, there are no mosquito screens on the terrace door or bedroom windows (only one small window has one), so mosquitoes can get inside if you’re not careful. Bedrooms: The beds are cozy but too narrow (only 1.40 m wide). I'm small (1.65 65 kg) and even I fell out of bed when turning over, and didn’t sleep well because of the limited space. Also note: there is no air-conditioning in the bedrooms. Pool & Water: On arrival, the pool was very cloudy with a greasy, yellow edge, which we cleaned ourselves. The water only cleared up after two days – the pump (which was turned on when we arrived) should have been turned on earlier! The house-water supply was also problematic: petroleum/oil was floating in the tank (we found the tank after 2 days), and the water smelled and tasted very strongly after these chemicals, making it unhealthy and unusable. Neighbors had the same issue. Thankfully, after insisting, Belvilla and the owner took the matter seriously, and the tank was emptied, disinfected, cleaned, and refilled. Still, this cost us two days of our seven-day holiday. Not taking seriously by the housekeeper made us very sad and angry. (we know it's not drinking water but this was a mistake by the water supplier which they denied first) Other Issues: The TV was broken on arrival but replaced on day 2. One night the power went out; the solution was to reset all the breakers. A house manual with such instructions would be very helpful. We could reach the housekeeper at 24.00 luckily who instructed us what to do. Tips for the Owner: Check the house thoroughly before guests arrive and everything is perfect!!!! Turn on the pool pump in advance and clean the edges. Consider adding an outdoor shower to help prevent contamination or grease in the pool. Overall: Despite the setbacks, we would return – the location and the house itself (and the owner) are wonderful.

The house had a fantastic view of the sea and mountains. By previous comments we were already aware that the road to the house was not obvious. We have therefore rented a jeep, which was not superfluous. The road is not reserved for every driver. Fortunately my husband is a good driver, because I did not dare to drive there. We thought we had a lot of barbecuing in the evening, but the bbq is too small for that. In previous comments it was also mentioned that the beds were very bad. Before that, I called a Belvilla employee and he confirmed that negative comments are always being acknowledged and addressed. Well I can now confirm that we slept on a boxspring frame of Ikea (nothing against Ikea) without mattress, something paper thin on it. Even our 3 children complained about the beds. The air conditioning, only in the living room, does not make up for the rooms. It was reported that the people of the key service could only learn Spanish (Pepe and Maria, by the way, very friendly). In itself no problem, with some years of Spanish lessons behind and google translate this works fine. However, I find that the owners easily get rid of it. A small information folder with information about separate waste or not, where depositing, doctors, ... would be welcome. In the end pay 3,130 euros + 75 euros costs. Luckily the view and nice pool made everything right.

Spacious house with stunning views of sea and mountains. Very quiet area. Beautiful sunsets. Unfortunately, some maintenance to the furniture inside and out and pool. DVD player malfunction. Beds were very poor. TV channels via satellite many German, but BVN. Sympathetic keyholder Pepe speaks only Spanish. By car 20 minutes from beach / sea / spa. Mountain road home full of potholes, drive in 1st or 2nd gear. Last leg home sharp and very steep slope! Wifi fee, works well. The white village of Nerja is 40 minutes away and very cozy, well worth it! Granada 1.5 hours drive. Malaga 45 minutes. Despite the stunning views we would not rent this house again because of the way and very bad beds.

The road to the villa is not only the last 200m bad but the full road from down to the villa, once upon a while it is worth to forget about the 15 minute ride. The accommodation is good but the person who guides you and guides you (Pepe) speaks Spanish only, what a find out how everything works, results (sorry) The surroundings are pretty beautiful. A hairdryer and mosquito net could be a plus.

The house is beautiful, clean, well maintained. The view is breathtaking. However, we have often suffered from electricity failure at the slightest and often short circuits. We have also been without water for almost 24 hours. The road there is a horror; you need at least four-wheel drive if you want to be able to climb the steep, twisty, jagged, potholed road surface reasonably well.

Despite the fact that Pepe and Maria are kind and pleasant, there are facilities in the house without taking care of. For example, many indoor and outdoor light bulbs are burned out, the dishwasher does not work, etc. In addition, the road to the house (2.5 km) is full of holes and poorly paved, so it is important to take into account the car with which you travel to the house. On the other hand, the area of the village does not have fences, so anyone can enter the outside. Even so, it is a recommended place where you can relax and enjoy your holidays.

Upon arrival we had to wait for the friendly manager, who only speaks Spanish. The house is easily accessible via the asphalted mountain road. Take into account deep ravines, very steep slopes and few opportunities to pass oncoming traffic. The villa has breathtaking views of the sea and Velez Malaga and surrounding areas. The house was clean and tidy. Some squeaky and stuck doors here and there. The electricity supply is extremely poor. The fuses keep blowing. You cannot use more than 1 or 2 devices at the same time. That"s difficult with cooking. Maximum two cooking zones at not even full capacity. The only air conditioning in the living room hangs far too low and has little capacity. The bedrooms have no air conditioning and are very hot at night in the summer. The beds are sagging and you roll towards each other. There was hardly any water pressure in one bathroom, the other was good. The small tiles are coming loose in large numbers trouble with wasps. Eating outside was not feasible. We will no longer choose this house, despite the view.

We have a fantastic week polite Vista Maravilla. With unique location and breathtaking view of sea and mountains. The journey towards it was chilling spanning steep roads, for drivers with nerves of steel. Fortunately, the manager drove us, otherwise we would probably not even found. The house was lovely, fully equipped, with a cozy outdoor kitchen terrace and a nice pool. Only thing was that we found the beds rather rickety.
