Quite close is the beautiful and fish-rich Lake Svarten. Boats and fishing licenses are available for rent nearby. The nearest swimming spot is at Hjärtaredssjön. A bit further away is Åkulla beech forests, a very attractive area. There are many nice places to visit and many hiking trails. Visit the Bockstensmannen grave and Bexel's talking stones. At Yasjön there is a restaurant and swimming spot and the possibility of renting a boat and canoe. In winter there are beautiful ski trails etc. The area also has Ästads winery and Öströös sheep farm, which offer a variety of activities. Next to Ullared's gigantic shopping center there is also a popular swimming lake with a jetty and diving tower. For those interested in golf, Hofgårds golf club is the closest.

You also have a nice swimming area in Gårvik with both rocks, a trampoline, a swimming ladder and a small beach. Feel free to make an excursion to the nearby picturesque island of Lyr which is reached by free car ferry with crossing in just 3 minutes. The summer in Orust offers many treats in the form of festivals and events. The big city Gothenburg with the well-known amusement park Liseberg 80 km.
