The long and narrow community is divided by a canal that separates Skaftö from the small island of Ösö. Along the canal are picturesque boathouses and piers from different eras. Here you will find professional fishermen where you can buy fresh fish, shrimp and crabs directly from the boats. At Östra kajen, a new promenade has been built, a long pier to Skäddhålan and which then continues in a hiking trail to Vigene bathing area which is also your cottage's bathing areas within walking distance. This cozy coastal community, with its beautiful villas and sea-splashed piers is popular in many ways, including large parts of the popular TV series Saltön were filmed here. There are several bathing areas in the area for cooling baths, sand between your toes and relaxation on the sun-warmed rocks. Welcome to Runmarö, a larger island in Stockholm's middle archipelago. If you drive a car, park in Stavsnäs and take the ferry to Styrsvik, which takes 10 minutes. There is also a bus from Slussen to Stavsnäs if you don't have a car. 500 m from the ferry there is a cozy house on two floors, the ground floor has a large modern kitchen with dishwasher, fridge and freezer and a nice folding table, for nice meals, games, etc. On the ground floor there is also a bathroom with toilet, shower and washing machine. If you go up the stairs, there is a living room with a daybed that easily becomes a double bed, and a TV. Inside that room there is a nice bedroom with three single beds and a bed that is 140. The house has AC, which is nice to turn on before going to bed in the summer. In the winter it provides nice warmth. Outside the house there is a terrace with outdoor furniture and a barbecue. You share the plot with the nice owners, but have some distance to the house. There are bicycles to rent in the grocery store, but the owners also have some bicycles. On Runmarö there are both sea baths and lakes to swim in. There is a grocery store, a good restaurant and a bakery. In Stavsnäs there is a very nice restaurant down by the water and the ferry runs many times a day in the summer. From Stavsnäs there are boats to other islands, including Sandhamn, Nämdö and Ingarö if you are curious about the islands in the area. Runmarö also has kayak rentals.
