Very nice house. Although it is located in a forest allotment, it is still very quiet. The deer pass right along the terrace. This holiday home is a must, we will definitely go back.

The cottage is really fantastic with large windows so you can always enjoy the forest. Beautiful, spacious bedrooms with nice beds (children's bedroom is even equipped with some drawing stuff and books). The shower is also great! On the weekend we were there we visited the Caves of Neptunes (also fun for children) and went to Roc la Tour in France. Highly recommended!

A very fine chaletje, beautiful interior finished with quality materials. Very bright thanks to the large windows that bring the nature feeling inside. Always pleasantly warm by the floor heating. No view, no noise, pure peace and enjoy.

Modern log cabin with a panoramic view of the forest and equipped with every comfort. Thanks to the large windows, you can discover the many bird species that peck at the terrace. You can also start long forest walks from the site. The underfloor heating ensures a pleasant temperature in the house.

Great beautiful modern little house and a great venue in the middle of nature. There are other holiday cabins in the vicinity but it doesn't sploil the feeling of being in nature at all. Not cheap but would definitely recommend a stay! .

Excellent holiday home in a particularly beautiful area. The cottage is well equipped and fully equipped. The tranquility in the park where the house is (for someone from Amsterdam) is overwhelming. In the area, both in Belgium and France, there are many opportunities for walking, cycling and visiting nice towns.

This very pleasant, light house is not an old-fashioned Ardennes chalet, but a cosily furnished modern residence in the middle of nature and perfectly suited for 2 adults (we used the second bedroom as storage space). Everything is there (except wine and beer glasses ...) and well cared for. The shower is blissful! The wood-burning stove works well (but the heating with heat pump works against it). You have to take care of the wood yourself (for sale in the village shop). There are no curtains on the blissfully large windows, which ensures that "in the evening - with the lights on - you are still very" open "and it hinders your privacy. We were quickly used to it. Nice is that your walks can start from the cottage and that the offer in the region is very large. We could enjoy the wonderful effect of recent snowfall, but to reach the chalet you still need winter tires. 2 more comments: the mentioned "microwave" is in fact a combi oven (including warm air) and special attention is paid to the fact that you lock yourself out if you pull the front door (or if it strikes "accidentally") and the key is on the inside (the door cannot be opened with a handle from the outside) Really not evident (during loading and unloading for example) We do not know how things are during the summer in this forest with many houses (in terms of "crowds") , but at the beginning of February we could certainly enjoy a treat ig peace and quiet. Together with the multifarious birds. Recommended!

Beautiful location and great gîte in the middle of the forest. It took a while to get used to the silence, but that went quickly. Here you come without t.v. and WiFi to relax. The house is spacious and offers a panoramic view of the wooded area. Walking/cycling is possible directly from the house.

Nice house in a beautiful wooded area without the feeling of being in a holiday park. Fairly secluded, quiet, road to the cottage is not everywhere in equally good condition, but doable. Here and there small comments about the maintenance of the house (eg a lot of mold on silicone in the shower, no smoke detectors in use, ...) Apart from that, had a super nice stay in a beautiful and well-equipped house;

Beautiful accommodation and a very open feel. We found that it was still dirty and had to brush something. The 75 € we paid for the boilers I think is too much because we have to brush ourselves on arrival.

The Stay itself was nice and good. The cottage was fine and the location is phenomenal. Unfortunately, the handling of the deposit left something to be desired. After all, we received a message that our deposit was blocked because of a broken baking dish. Coincidentally, I had consciously seen that scale myself the morning of our departure. She was then in good condition. After an email hoping to get some clarification and to explain ourselves that the bowl was in order when we left, we received the message that the cleaning crew had confirmed that the bowl was in order before our visit had started, so I himself had already announced. They asked if I had photographic evidence of my version. Which I didn't have as we were leaving under the assumption that everything was fine. There was no reason to. These are always difficult word against word situations, but I had hoped for a more commercial handling and communication. For example, they simply refunded the remaining amount, without a settlement, proof or accompanying email. So I don't know how much they charged for that scale. If that's my deposit - the refunded amount, they paid way too much for it (I work in electro-retail and am well aware of the prices.) In fact, I haven't even received any proof that they actually have a shell or that the bowl was indeed broken in the first place. Of course I assume so. But in principle they should be allowed to let you know. After all, I paid for it (wrongly in my opinion). I still think it's a really sad experience. Because this settlement came like a bolt from the blue. This has affected our positive feeling about the holiday. Wannes

Chalet in Oignies near French Border
New modern chalet for 4 people. Ideally located in the woods between Oignies-en-Thièrarche and the French village of Fumay.
This chalet has a modern living room with sofa, dining area and modern kitchen. The bedroom with a double bed is located at the back and has a large sliding window with a view of nature. The children's room has bunk beds and a DVD player. The living room has very large windows that open onto a very spacious terrace. Everything is provided to fully enjoy the peace and nature, which is why the terrace is not equipped with a railing, making it less suitable for very small children. The house has a very modern kitchen, but no TV and no internet.
Pure peace and nature, with many hiking opportunities in the immediate vicinity. Snow chains are usually necessary during snowfall. The house has no extra energy costs, due to the use of solar panels, underfloor heating and extra insulation.
