On arrival we ended up in an idyllic setting where you immediately your holiday feeling unwell. Friendly, kind and helpful people, even Dutch-language, which is very pleasant, a super location!

The gite is located on the driveway of Mavaleix Castle. It is a beautiful and especially child friendly area with many facilities such as restaurant, play area, swimming pool and animals. The owner and staff are customer oriented and friendly. The gite is connected with a larger gite and is suitable for 4 people in space. At the back is the terrace, which has limited privacy because of its neighbors and adjacent tennis court. The gite itself needs some maintenance (8-2017) and the owner gives up to bring this.

The accommodation, the small gîte, which we rented left a lot to be desired. It was not clean at all: cobwebs, dust everywhere, and to top it all: mice... on the counter and on the table. When we (immediately) reported this to the owner, we got the laconic answer: 'you live here in nature, don't you'. In the end nothing was done and we put all our food that was there in closed freezer compartments and suitcases. The tennis court, a red/orange field as it is beautifully displayed on your website, is in reality an unmaintained area where lines are barely visible and where thorns thrive on all sides of the square. This was the last time we booked with Belvilla!

On arrival we were warmly received by Kees. House was tidy and well equipped. The only downside was the lack of blinds for the window on the landing, and the kitchen was in good weather, the temperature will quickly into the house. We solved this by hanging towels over the windows. Location is top, lots of space, nature and animals at the Chateaux, which our kids loved. Outcome is also the possibility to order on Mon t / m we eat at the onsite cafe (even delivered to the cottage). The restaurant is highly recommended, good food and service (Jo) is doing everything to make it to your liking. Overall highly recommended this location.

The Dordogne is a region where there is a lot to discover and visit. You can take a canoe at BrÃ¢ntome (one of the most beautiful villages), visite the prehistoric caves of Villars, and stroll around the local markets and antique shops. Of course, there is a lot more to discover and we are available to advise you.
