Activities nearby: The region around Lake Dümmer is not only a wonderful recreational area but also the perfect starting point for excursions to Schwerin, Wismar, or Ludwigslust. Swimming on the shallow, child-friendly beach and from the jetty is possible on Lake Dümmer, as are boating and fishing trips by rowboat. However, the best way to explore the beautiful surroundings is by hiking, cycling, or inline skating. A nearly 15 km long, first-class cycle path leads directly from Dümmer to Wittenburg, where there is also an adventure park with a climbing garden, a year-round indoor ski hall, and a quad and go-kart track. The state capital of Schwerin, with its magnificent palace complex, is also definitely worth a visit.
