The villa Casa El Cerro is located on a great spot overlooking the valley and the small village of Rubite. A beautiful home that just breathes serenity, and is the perfect place when you are looking for a peaceful and relaxing holiday.
When renting a car during your visit it is recommanded to not choose the cheapest and weakest car, for the last few 150 meters to the gate of the villa are steep. And this is also a good idea when you like to go for a drive through the area for some sightseeing.

The arrival was flawless and was heartwarming. The accommodation is lovely and on a beautiful mountain with breathtaking views. It is still close to Malaga and near the coast. Trips through the hinterland are a aanrader.De homeowners are very friendly and accessible.Only the 3rd bedroom actually has too small beds. I would place beds for adults there.

A beautiful accommodation in a beautiful location! The house (a beautiful villa) is quietly situated on the top of a mountain with a magnificent view over the mountainous surroundings. The welcome was warm, the owners are very friendly and questions were answered (via Whatsapp) quickly (in English). In the warm month of August, the spacious swimming pool, which is cleaned twice a week, is the ideal place for cooling off. Next to the swimming pool there is an outdoor shower, a barbecue and a toilet room. Lemons, avocados and pears grow in the garden. A supermarket is a 20-minute drive away and (for example) Malaga, Nerja and Granada (Alhambra) are easily accessible. A tip for nature lovers is the park El Torcal de Antequera. A car is necessary and keep in mind that the road to the house is an "adventurous" road (especially for people with some fear of heights).

2 years ago already and now for the 2 times (2 weeks), the welcome was warm and both we and the owners (Reme Paco) were happy to see each other again. The owner speaks better English than before and we even learned some Spanish from her The house itself was even nicer and super after a trip back to relax and have complete privacy and private pool It is also an ideal base to visit the wider area such as nerja, malaga, torremolinos, benalmadena and a little further about 1,5u drive marbella and 2 hours drive from gibraltar We have taken the selwopack that is for sale and not regret (only selwo marina is at the smaller side) A day trip to gibraltar is also recommended (best parking underground garage spanish side) and thereby the marina bay you can go dolphin watching in the wild (ONRADER) take the blue boat (dolphine safari) and not the yellow boat - these are sometimes overcrowded - A car is required to get there and to get out / food store The first time the trip to the house from renault trucks (meeting point on arrival) is s pectacular but without problems Next summer we will certainly come back gr Steven Hilde Tom Liana and Demi

Totally perfect! It is a super nice house that was very clean, nice fresh smoke and almost everything is present from towels to pizza roller. The house has a super nice view over the mountains and you have all the privacy. The homeowners are top! The woman can speak English fairly well. They do everything to give you a fantastic holiday. When we apped her we received a response within a few minutes and she deliberates when she can come by to clean the pool. We had a great holiday !!

Late in the evening in Malaga. At the agreed point near the house we were met by the very friendly owners. They guided us up the mountain in the dark. A very narrow road without safety barriers. Beautiful views and an equally beautiful environment. We would like to come back again.

What a beautifully stunning villa sits atop that mountain. Everything was very clean and tidy, and we were warmly welcomed by the owners. At the agreed place and time, Paco came to guide us to the house on his motorcycle, which we otherwise would not have found. The road there is beautiful, but we felt it was not safe to drive it in the dark, so we made sure to be home before dark. 😀 Stunning view, beautiful sunrise and sunset, lovely pool, everything is available for a wonderful stay. It is advisable to do some shopping before you drive to the house so you can stay "up there" for a while. We had a fantastic time for 18 days.

We were escorted from the key point by the owner to the house, and there was a warm welcome with explanation. You can see that the owners are proud of this property, everything has been done with care and attention to us, with a lot of attention to detail. For example, the kettle has descaled before our arrival ... A beautiful accommodation, with a lovely swimming pool, fine working wifi, well-equipped kitchen.

Well cared for clean house! Smelled wonderful on arrival and nice people. Bottle of wine cold in the fridge. Very remote and a steep slope so car definitely needed. People come here for peace. The cottage lacks air conditioning which we really needed with 51 degrees in full sun.

Beautiful villa with nice view and very nice owners .. Kitchen with all necessary equipment like 15-20min drive to village / grocery store, so shopping for a few days is recommended. There are small biting flies and mosquitoes in the area so mosquito net is fine "at night.

Arrival was well arranged, the homeowner led us on the adventurous road to the villa. The house had, apart from a few small things, everything you needed to enjoy the silence and the great view. The garden was beautiful and wonderful to sit in. Downside were the many wasps and bees. Swimming pool is great to cool in before you dive into your bed. The beds are a point of attention for the owner, the mattresses are very hard and then it is nice that there are toppers that you can put on your mattress.

The hostess waited for us and guided us up the mountain to the accommodation. We arrived in a well-kept house with a lovely pool with a fantastic view. Complete peace and freedom. Tips from the hostess for a good restaurant. We even received eggs from her own chickens the second day. A beautiful accommodation. Groceries nearby centrally located in the triangle Cordoba - Malaga - Granada.

The mountain village of Canillas de Aceituno lies at the foot of Mount Maroma, northeast of Malaga. The outstanding natural beauty and tranquility of the village of whitewashed houses, allow you a true taste of Spain; away from the hustle and bustle of the tourist cities. The privileged location of this quiet town makes it an excellent base to explore more of Andalucia.
What to do during your holiday?
You can spend a wonderful day exploring the ancient village of Canillas de Aceituno. The narrow winding alleyways and arches, characteristic of Moorish architecture, glide like the wind among the whitewashed buildings. Colorful pots decorate windows and charming plazas make that this quiet and picturesque village is a welcoming place. You can stop and enjoy the famous tapas, or for the menu of the day at one of the local bars. Or you can enjoy the excellent food of Andalusia in its restaurants.
Places to visit
Pasada de Granadillo is an excellent starting point from which you can explore the Costa del Sol. Málaga is less than an hour away and has great beaches and entertainment. Torre del Mar is closer, and can be reached by following the scenic Route Mudéjar. In the coastal resort is the famous waterpark, Aqua Velis, ideal to go with your whole family, and you can enjoy exhilarating water rides.
If you are looking for sandy beaches, then you should go to Nerja and its famous Playa Burriana with breaking waves. You can also venture into the fascinating and popular caves of Nerja. In the heart of Andalusia is the spectacular Lake Vinuela, surrounded by a beautiful valley. Around this lake are great places to picnic and enjoy the magnificent views of Andalusia.
