Casa Helga is a characteristic farmhouse, recently restored with all comfort; spacious rooms, a lounge with fireplace and TV, a dining room, a kitchen and WIFI. It has a large garden with fruit trees and native trees, a separate entrance with a big parking.

The friendly owners live on the farm in a separate house. Inform their guests about the activities and excursions that can be done in the area. In addition, you can order breakfast with homemade products and rent bicycles.

Ajangiz is situated in Bizkaia, on 30 minutes fron Bilbao and 20 minutes from the coast. It is ideally located in the Urdaibai Reserve to go for hiking, climbing, mountain biking, horse riding and boat trips. In the area there are also numerous beaches for water activities such as diving, surfing, and sailing.

Other attractions in the area include the Cave of Santimamiñe, Oma Enchanted Forest and the hermitage of San Juan de Gaztelugatze and the traditional fishing villages like Elantxobe and Bermeo.

Note: Pets are not permitted to be left unattended in the house.

The house in Kanpantxu is beautifully situated. It is simple but has 4 bathrooms and 5 spacious bedrooms. We were welcomed by the owners. The area is beautiful and about 15 minutes drive there are beautiful beaches, which in turn make a welcome change to Bilbao, San Sebastian and Guernica. The only thing we missed was a sheltered place to sit outside and sit outside (sitting outside is fine, but you are more or less with the owners on the terrace. A nice and reasonably priced base for a very nice area.

Very friendly and helpful lady. You can always rely on her. She does not come across quite disturbing. She also speaks English and German. The rooms and bathrooms are also fine. One flaw inside the house has a musty smell that lingers when everything is closed. Luckily we were able to sit outside and a lot of the windows are open.

Excursions Roundtrip Kanpantxu This walk is very popular amongst native people, who do it daily. - Walk to the Holm Oak A 2 hour’s walk to the unique holm oak: Situated in the neighbouring village Muxika the tree can give shelter to some 100 cows. - Cape Ogoño This impressive calcareous rock rises almost vertically from the sea between the beach of Laga and the fishing village Elantxobe. From the top the view is spectacular over the sea with the fishing villages Mundaka and Bermeo as well as the mountain line inland. - Oiz Mountain For the lovers of mountaineering this is an obligatory tour of some 5 km. From the top the highest mountains can be seen in the south, the limiting province of Gipuzkoa in the east and the estuary of the river of Bilbao in the west. - The Caves of Santimamiñe and the Painted Forest of Oma The caves bear rupestrian paintings and the pine forest has been provided with paintings by Agustin Ibarrola. - The heart of the biosphere of UrdaibaiBy train, bus or car the section between Gernika and Bermeo gives beautiful view across the estuary, the typical forests of the region and the little beaches which invite the visitor to take a walk or even a bath.
