Within walking distance of the cabin, you have a starting point for around 600 km of groomed cross-country trails and tours that are suitable for both young and old. Skeikampen alpine center is also in the immediate vicinity, with 9 lifts and a total of 21 runs for a total of 21 kilometers. The Halden watercourse includes fishing in Halden, Aremark, Marker, Aurskog - Høland and Trøgstad. All lakes have many fish species and large stocks of the most popular fish species, so here there are good opportunities to catch. You can also rent a canoe and experience the Halden Canal on your own. The Halden Canal offers some routes and charter trips by steamboat during the summer season. On the journey you really get to experience what Norwegian nature has to offer: large lakes, narrow canals, high locks, open meadows, and forests. If you are lucky, you could see both beavers and ospreys. The steamboat Prøven runs scheduled trips on beautiful lake Kornsjøen from kl. 12 every Saturday and Sunday in July. In Halden you can visit Fredriksten Fortress and maybe see “Allsang på grensen”? Easy to take a quick trip to Sweden should you want to do some shopping.

The cottage is well equipped with all amenities. The kitchen has plenty of space and is well equipped. Vegglifjell is in the heart of Nummedal between Kongsberg and Geilo. Here you will find great marked ski trails, hiking, and biking trails approx. 30 meters from the cottage, and it is only 2.4 km to Veggli Fjellstue on skis. Veggli Ski Center is only a short drive away (approx. 5 min) by car. There are 13 fishing lakes in the area, as well as Lågen which is a well-known fishing river. In the area, you can also find cranberries, blueberries, and mulberries. Approx. approx. 2 hours and 15 min to drive to the cabin from Oslo. From Drammen it is approx. 1 hour and 45 min. and from Kongsberg approx. 1 hour. In Lampeland and Veggli, there are fast charging stations for electric cars, including Tesla. Veggli center (approx. 10 min drive from the cottage) has a center with grocery store, café, and flower shop. In addition, you will find a petrol station, art shop, bakery and Veggli Inn with accommodation and a café/restaurant in the "center". The beautiful beach Å beach is about 3 km away with a lovely sandy beach, small benches and barbecue area. Hurdalssjøen Hotel has a pool and spa area which can be used by everyone for a fee. Råholt water park is only a 15-minute drive away. Alpaca hiking is also an activity you can take part in in Hurdal, trips of about 2 hours can be arranged for a fee. Lots of berries and mushrooms in the area. The nice farm shop Loftet at Eidsvoll is worth a visit, here you can shop and have lunch in the cozy café. In winter, you will find groomed cross-country trails right by the cottage. 10 km from Hurdal Ski Center with several slopes for both adults and children and a cafe with drinks and snacks. An hour to Oslo by car or train. If you are tempted by a summer trip aboard Skibladner, the world's oldest wheeled steamer in operation, it is just under an hour's drive to the harbor at Hamar, Kapp or Gjøvik. The holiday house is not available for youth groups.

Fishing opportunities near the holiday home where you can catch saithe and mackerel. Sandefjord is a pleasant town with many restaurants and a bustling life during summer. Throughout the year, the cultural experiences line up: Festivals, concerts, theater, show or art - here there is a lot to choose between! Sandefjord has a total of 45 km of marked hiking trails along Vesterøya and Østerøya. You can either choose to walk there from the city center or take the car and start from one of the campsites Vøra or Langeby. Yxney on Østerøya and Folehavna on Vesterøya in Sandefjord have two completely different vantage points at the end of each peninsula. Yxney has a nature reserve, and at Folehavna you can find the remains of a German fort from 1941. Also, you could to take the ferry to Strømstad in Sweden should you fancy some more shopping.
