By the sea you find Jennestad Handelssted, where trade has been conducted since 1830, today a museum and well worth visiting. 8 km to the coastal town of Sortland with shops and restaurants. A great starting point for day trips by car around to the many small fishing villages in Vesterålen and Lofoten. In the fishing village of Andenes, whale watching is an exciting experience for the whole family. Visit the old fishing village of Nyksund, which used to be one of the largest fishing villages in Vesterålen but was vacated in the 1970s. 4 bicycles for adults can be used. The house is located approx. 60 m from the road but secluded in the forest.

Great holiday home on a large, unobstructed natural plot just five minutes' walk from the sea. On the ground floor, there is a hall, living room and kitchen. From the kitchen, there are stairs down to a conservatory/dining room with exits on two sides and a door to the laundry room. From the conservatory, there are stairs to a bedroom and WC in the basement. The bedroom has a TV but it is not connected to cable TV. To the right from the hallway, there is an office/library with stairs to the first floor, by the stairs there is a WC room and a door to a laundry room with shower cubicle. On the first floor, there is a hallway with a TV corner behind the stairs, a bathroom with a shower cubicle, WC and bathtub, as well as a bedroom inside the bathroom. Access to two more bedrooms from the hallway. Standard Altibox on TV on both floors, fiber network. Outside the holiday home, there is a courtyard with plenty of space for parking and a garden. With paved patios on both sides of the house, you can always find a sheltered spot. The outdoor areas have a gas grill, outdoor furniture and a "Chimenea" outdoor fireplace. Two beaches close by, one to the north and one to the south. Great hiking areas nearby; from the garden, a path goes straight onto the Coastal Path, a marked hiking trail along the sea. Kjerrringvik is an old customs port with buildings dating back to the 18th century. Located at the far end of the fjord, the water is crystal clear. Beautiful archipelago with islands where you can go ashore and spend the night in a tent or under the open sky. On Martaholmen, a short boat trip from the harbor, there is a great beach and cliffs. Eastward on the island, you come to “The Dancing Floor”, a large stone plateau where the locals used to have dance parties in the old days.

Visit Svolvær, Lofoten's “capital”, and the fishing village of Henningsvær. At Andenes in the north, there is whale safari where you can take a boat out and experience the big whales up close - an exciting experience for the whole family. 10 km to Melbu with shops and restaurants. A minor road runs between the house and the beach, where there can be a lot of traffic in the summer, but little traffic the rest of the year.

On the lawn below the terrace is a trampoline. The garden room at the terrace can only be used between April 1st and October 1st. From the cabin and the terrace there is a great view of the fjord 100 m below. The beach is shallow and child-friendly and offers great opportunities for swimming for the whole family, from the beach or from the jetty. Good fishing opportunities and a boat with a motor is moored at the floating jetty and can be rented. Salmon fishing can be done in the river Stjørdalselva or Verdalselva. Nice walking opportunities, 300 m to a hiking trail. Nice starting point for road trips. There are many monuments in the area that are worth seeing: the monastery ruins at Tautra by Frosta, Stiklestad church from the year 1100, built on the site where Olav Haraldsson fell in battle in 1030 m.m. 60 km to the city of Trondheim with many sights, shops and restaurants.
