The area offers beautiful hiking or cycling in a distinctive landscape. Here you will find both a unique flora and fauna, mushrooms and berries as well as a rich animal life. In the Örekilsälven, which flows in the valley below the cabin, there is the opportunity to paddle, fish, and if you're lucky, the beaver might make an appearance. Several nice lakes for swimming, fishing or canoeing/kayaking are in the area, there is plenty of space at the cabin for those of you who want to bring your own canoe/kayak. At Ulkeröd's farm there is a hunting and shooting center for those of you who want to try this. The proximity to the main road in the area makes it easy to get to several of the area's bathing spots, lakes and other excursion destinations. The cottage is beautifully situated in a quiet location on a well-kept and nice farm, here you wake up to birdsong and the rustle of the trees. The cabin's entrance is reached via a glass-enclosed veranda, from there you enter a welcoming hall which leads you to a kitchen equipped with stove, separate oven, fridge/freezer, microwave, coffee maker and dishwasher, inside the kitchen is a large living room with both dining room furniture and a nice large corner sofa. In the glass veranda there are two sofas and a dining table, a perfect environment if you are looking for shade or a moment of relaxing rest. On the first floor, there is also the cottage's bathroom with shower and washing machine. From the hall, a staircase leads up to the second floor, where you are first met by a bedroom with a double bed and a single bed and further into another bedroom equipped with a double bed. From the living room you reach the cottage's balcony area with summer furniture and barbecue, a nice place in a peaceful environment to discuss the day's adventures or plan for new excursions. On the cottage's lawn area, which you share with the owner's house, there is room for all kinds of games and play. If the cabin owner is at home, the owner usually has the option of guided tours in the area and you also have the option of renting a canoe from the owner. Extra freezer space can be borrowed by contacting the owner. The cabin has WiFi connection. Hedekas / Sörbygden is part of the municipality of Munkedal which is known for its very varied and worth visiting natural areas, everything from sea and fjord environments such as The salt spring with its sandy beach and salty baths to deep forests with lakes and rivers. Hedekas is located on the edge of Kynnefjäll, which is an approximately two mile long and one mile wide high plateau in northern Bohuslän. The plateau stretches between the Bullaresjöarna rift valley in the west and the Örekilsälven valley in the east, with Kornsjöarna as the northern outpost on the border with Norway. The topography of the area has meant that species that are otherwise more common further north in the country thrive here. Örekilsälven, which is also a popular river for salmon fishing, where many sport fishing enthusiasts have tried their luck over the years. From the cabin, you can also easily make day trips to Nordens Ark, Havets Hus in Lysekil, Smögenbryggan, fishing and boating communities in the northern part of Bohuslän. If you want to spend a day on the golf course, there are several nice courses within a radius of a couple of miles to choose from, e.g. Dagsholms GK in Färgelanda or Torreby golf course, which is Bohuslän's oldest golf course, the course is located in a castle setting with an English-inspired castle park.

Blidö is a very popular destination, one of the few places you can easily reach so far out in the archipelago by car, bus, and ferry. On Blidö, there is everything from a grocery store, bakery, church, health center, and farms. There are several different bathing spots in both the sea and lake, as well as nice walking paths; find your favorite spots! Rådmansholmsbadet is perfect for families with children with its shallow beach. A tip is also to take a trip to central Norrtälje to stroll through the alleys along the canal; here you will also find everything you need in terms of services and more. For those who want more city life, take a trip to Stockholm city where you can visit the Royal Palace, Skansen, or why not Gröna Lund! You can easily get to central Stockholm via a 2.5-hour boat ride, which offers a beautiful archipelago tour. If you want to take a longer boat trip, you can go to Grisslehamn to take the Eckerö Line over to Åland. Let the vacation begin!

You have two popular cafes in Berga that are worth visiting, Café Tre Århundraden and Elsabo Herrgårdsscafé. Elk park is in Målilla. You are also close to Glasriket and Vimmerby where you have Astrid Lindgren's World. Smaller grocery stores can be found in Ruda, while larger ones can be found in Högsby or Fliseryd.

You can also visit Astrid Lindgren's childhood home Näs, Emil's Katthult and Bullerbyn. In Mariannelund is the film village where filming environments from classic films by Astrid Lindgren can be experienced. In the moose park in Skullaryd, you can go on a tractor safari, experience and feed moose and deer in their natural environment. Eksjö with Sweden's best preserved wooden town is well worth a visit.

There are several lakes in the area with good fishing. Fishing license applies. A short drive away is Virsehatt, a nature reserve with a fantastic view. At a convenient distance is Oskarström, a smaller resort that has most of what you need during your vacation. There is a much-appreciated adventure pool here, open during the summer. Feel free to take a trip to Simlångsdalen. There is both a public bathing area and several lovely places to visit. A short drive takes you to Halmstad with its white sandy beaches and its cozy inner city. There are several golf courses in the area, the closest is Rydö golf club.

A restaurant open in summer with full rights can be found at Norje Boke camping at another child-friendly beach, just over a kilometer away. To the nearby towns of Sölvesborg and Karlshamn, you can take the bus for a shopping tour and sights on site. From Karlshamn, many of the archipelago traffic's boats also go on daily trips out among the islands in Blekinge. Listerlandet is recommended to be discovered either by car or on the bike-friendly roads that are everywhere around here. The beaches with the unusually white sand succeed each other here in the old fishing communities along the coast. Museums, fishing restaurants and a smokehouse for the purchase of fish for later enjoyment are mixed with beautiful and extensive scenery.
