The massive Varberg Fortress guards the entrance to the harbor and can be seen from afar. Go on a tour down into the bastions and casemates, follow along from the 13th century to our own time. Just outside Varberg is Getterön, one of Sweden's most famous birding areas. There are also exhibitions, a shop and a café here. Another nice excursion destination is the Åkulla beech forests and for those of you who are technically interested, it is not far to the world heritage site Grimeton. Also visit the large shopping area GEKÅS in Ullared. For those interested in golf, there are several fine golf courses nearby, the closest is Klosterfjordens Gk.

Welcome to Hästholmen, a real gem along the shore of Lake Vättern. During the summer, the beautiful area and the harbor are filled with life. Why not take a dip in Lake Vättern, 500 meters from the house down towards the harbor is the swimming area which has a jetty and a nice little sandy beach. On the way down to the harbour, you can stop at 31's ice cream & kitchen and taste award-winning ice cream made in-house. The house is located in a picturesque residential area and has a large plot with several patios for socializing and playing. The house consists of two floors where bedrooms with two double beds and two single beds are on the upper floor including the large bathroom with shower, WC and washing machine. On the entrance floor is the kitchen, living room and an open dining area with a lovely view over the back of the yard. There are two TV screens with Chromecast. For those who want to discover scenic surroundings, experiences, activities or shopping, there are many places close by. The well-known Ekoparken Omberg with its fantastic nature and its wide range of activities makes the place an attractive visitor destination all year round. Here you can hike, cycle, paddle, take part in guided hikes and exciting activities. There are also several rain and wind shelters, rest areas and fire places to take advantage of. Along Omberg's mountain slopes you will be met by beautiful views and exciting caves that are just waiting to be explored. If you have a need for speed, we recommend that you take a look at Omberg's Zipline courses, which are located near Stocklycke in Omberg. There are also two high-altitude courses here for those who want to challenge themselves. 6 kilometers away is Ombergs Golf Resort, which offers high-quality food and can boast of having Östergötland's best golf course! For those of you who like fishing, you can fish with a fishing rod from the stone pier outside the guest harbour. But not from the bathing area and the harbor basin where docks and boats are located. Paddling on Lake Vättern is a very special feeling. In Hästholmen harbor you can book a kayak via Vätternkajak. Welcome to a sun-drenched plot on Värmdö, with a nice spacious house for a pleasant holiday. The house has three bedrooms, a double room where you can also set up a junior bed if you have a little one who wants to sleep in the same room. The junior bed can also share a room with the single bed if two children want to share a room. In addition, there is a single room with a 120-bed. A spacious living room with a wood-burning stove and pleasant seating and a dining table for socializing. There is a sunny glazed conservatory with a large dining table. Through the corridor you get to the rest of the house. In the living room you are greeted by a stylish interior in Gustavian style. The feeling of having come home arrives! Here in the living room you have a large dining table, TV and a warming stove. In the wardrobe next door, you can easily stow away all your packing and hang up your clothes. Wall to wall we have the cottage's first bedroom (2 single beds). When you continue into the cabin, you will find the cabin's second bedroom (1 double bed) and the third bedroom (bunk bed + an extra bed). All the cabin's regular beds are of high quality in terms of comfort. You will use the balcony next to the bedrooms extensively on rain-free days. From here you have a beautiful view of lake Värmeln. Start the grill, sit in one of the pieces of furniture and listen to the silence. The owners live on the plot next door. There they cultivate fish in the pond next to the house and the farm sale Lin'dA, women's clothing in natural materials. There is much to see in the area. Knätte Kärnås Live peacefully and completely undisturbed in this newly renovated, very cozy and beautiful house. The nearest neighbors are the cows that live in the pasture next door, which provide pleasant company during the holidays. This fine house with historical roots in the 19th century is incredibly beautiful in a cultural landscape with the forest outside the knot. The plot is 1000 square meters and has large open areas to spend time in and scenic surroundings with the forest at the junction. Start the day with a morning dip in the pool or a swim in Lake Drögen, which is 1 km away, known for its clear water and sandy beach. If you don't want to take the car, there are also bicycles available that you share with your neighbor on the same farm. The house has a large kitchen with all facilities and a washing machine, an open dining area which then opens into the living room, where there is a large sofa, TV, and tiled stove. For those of you who want to get active on the lake, you can book and rent a rowing boat and two optimist dinghies from the house owner, it is booked by both households on the farm, if it is booked you will surely agree to use the boat together on different occasions. There is something to do for everyone when you plan your excursion destinations both in the nearby area or if you go into the city of Linköping 40 km away.
