The cabin is spacious and cozy, spread over two floors, and is well suited for one or two families with slightly older children. On the ground floor, you’ll find a welcoming living room with a wood-burning stove and a TV with DVD and Blu-ray—an ideal gathering place after long days outdoors. The kitchen is separate, and from the hallway there is access to a small breakfast terrace where you can enjoy your morning coffee in peace and quiet. This floor also includes a large bathroom with a shower, a laundry room, and a bedroom with a double bed. On the upper floor, there is a TV lounge, a sofa bed for two, and a bedroom with two single beds. There is also a cozy loft area with seating, the possibility of a home office setup, and a bedroom with a single bed. Please note that the ceiling height is low upstairs, and both the staircase and access to the loft are steep. The outdoor areas are excellent. A large terrace and a covered outdoor room provide plenty of space to relax in the fresh sea air. There is both a fire pit and a spacious dog enclosure, so four-legged guests are very welcome. An EV charger is also available for those arriving by electric car. The surrounding area offers beautiful nature with great opportunities for hiking, berry picking, and mushroom foraging. There are also several geocaches on the island for the adventurous. A swimming spot with a pier in Mindalen is just three kilometers away, and the charming coastal town of Risør is only a short drive from the cabin. For an extra special experience, you can book a private sightseeing tour by water taxi—explore the island and the cabin from the sea, glide quietly through the fjords, and perhaps even spot seals resting on the rocks. In the surrounding area you will find beautiful swimming spots, family-friendly mountain hikes, guest harbors, restaurants and exciting cultural history.

Lovely holiday home in idyllic Hvaler, located in a residential area a short stroll from the beach. Views of the forest from the spacious terrace with hot tub. The house is new and nicely decorated. There are 4 bedrooms, 3 with double beds and one with 2 single beds. There is also a large cot for slightly older children. Large kitchen with everything needed to make great meals, dining room with plenty of room for everyone and a Tripp Trapp chair (without a bar) for children. Internet is included. The holiday home has three living rooms; in the main living room there is a large TV with streaming services and RiksTV. Three large bathrooms, one with a hot tub. There are many beautiful beaches in the area and only a short distance to Skjærhalden with its cozy little shops and outdoor restaurant on the pier. Great hiking opportunities in the area. It is only a few minutes’ walk to the nearest beaches, Olastranda and Døvika. Olastranda is shallow and suitable for small children. A hundred meters beyond the beach is Listranda marina where you can swim from the piers with bathing stairs. Døvika is an idyllic beach with rocky cliffs and sandy beach. The path from the house is through beautiful old forest where you can admire the tall trees and hear the birds chirping. Both beaches have sun from early morning until around 6 in the afternoon. If you want to swim at sunset, you can walk to Åsebu, about 20 minutes, with a beach, rocky cliffs and a pier with bathing stairs. If you drive, it only takes 4 minutes to the parking lot at the beach. On Kirkøy you will find Hvaler Golf Club with a great 9-hole golf course, café and golf simulator. It is only a 15 minutes’ drive. If you are a kitesurfer or windsurfer, there are fantastic opportunities at Ørekroken, only 10 minutes from the house. Another popular activity is island hopping; there is a free ferry to the most beautiful islands that Hvaler is made up of. In Fredrikstad, you can visit the beautiful old town and Isegran. The city ferry is free and runs all the time with several stops along the pier. The house is not let to youth groups.

The hike can start right outside, and there are great hiking, hunting and fishing areas in the area, both summer and winter. Groomed ski slopes, marked hiking trails and several small lakes in the mountain area: Eltsjøen and Rødsjøen are within walking distance of the cabin. To fish in the winter, there is an ice auger available at the cabin. There are also kickboards and sledges for rent and a toboggan run not far away. Short distance to Trysilfjellet alpine resort, Fulufjellet alpine resort in Ljørdalen, Sälen and Stöten area in Sweden with alpine resorts etc. In the center of Trysil there is a water park, and about 30 minutes’ drive away you will find Osensjøen with a great beach and swimming area. Summer activities in Trysil include Mountain Coaster, rafting, golf, climbing and canyoning. Great hiking trails where you can pick berries and mushrooms. In Trysil, there are several mountain bike parks and many bike paths to choose from as well as the climbing park Høyt og lavt.
