Great holiday cottage with outdoor whirlpool on Hinnøya, Norway's largest island. The cottage is situated by itself by the fjord,next to the village Flesnes, with large panoramic windows facing the sea and the nature. Here you can really enjoy the scenery with little streams running down the mountain sides. On the large terrace, start the day with your morning coffee, while watching the sun rise in the east with the sound of waves in the background. Enjoy the warm water of the whirlpool and admire the wonderful fjord view, winter or summer. This is a great place to experience winter with the wonderful Northern lights moving across the sky. After long, cold days outside you can warm yourself in front of the wood-burning stove in the living room. The cottage is tastefully furnished and comfortable with heated floors all year around. One bathroom and also an additional WC and water basin in the laundry room. You have a yard behind the cottage that you can use all year around. The fjord has plenty of great fishing locations and a 14 ft self draining boat with control panel and 25 hp motor is available for rent between May 15th and September 15th. The boat is tied up to a floating dock 400 meters from the house. By the house, you have a basic canoe for 2 people at 50 NOK per day. The mountains around the fjord are great for hiking with several walking trails. They also have several fish rich lakes, and a salmon river runs at the end of the fjord for those with a fishing license. The cottage is a good starting point for day excursions by car to Lofoten and Vesterålen, with its impressive scenery and many small fishing villages that are worth visiting. The house has a high chair. The mezzanine has its own TV set up for PlayStation.

From the house there is a great view of the mountain Trolltinden on the other side of the fjord, one of the most popular hiking destinations on the island. From the mountain, there is a magnificent view towards the Ullsfjorden and the Lyngenfjorden with the mighty Lyngsalpen mountains to the south. The conditions are great for skiing up to the mountain top also in winter. Great place for anyone who wants to experience the northern lights in the polar sky. From Akkarvik, you can hike along the sea on Arnøya's south side to the vacated villages of Geitvika and Sotneset. Arnøya has many other hiking destinations in the mountains. Great starting point for day trips by car around the island, i.a. to the village of Årviksand on Arnøya's north-west side. The car ferry from Storstein to Arnøya runs many times a day and the crossing takes around 25 minutes. From Tromsø, you can take a fast boat to Arnøyhamn on Arnøya. There are several fish-rich waters on the island where you can fish with a rod. Arnøya is surrounded by a large sea area and here you will find Norway's best fishing opportunities, including of halibut, cod, and catfish. You have everything you need, whether you want to go fishing, hiking, experience the fjord, sightseeing or shopping in Bergen. The ocean is only 50 meters from the cottage. It is not in sight from the house, but 25 meters from the house you have a panoramic view of the fjord, islands and beaches. The house is for 4 adults and 2 children. The house has two similar bedrooms, with double beds and single beds. Enter the one with a single bed and the double bed is in the next room. There is no door in between but an opening between the single bed and the double bed. The house is relatively new, modern and has a practical set-up. The boat for rent has a livewell and an open abaft wall, and the swimming platform makes it easy to board the boat. The boat has a double hull that makes sure it stays afloat no matter what. You have access to a large boathouse of 60m³ built in 2016, where you can store fishing equipment and where the fish cleaning table and freezer (200 - 249 litre) is located. You can rent two kayaks including life jackets, and with these, nature is very accessible. Only experienced kayakers. You can suntan, go swimming and barbecue just 50 meters from the house. There are several signed hiking trails nearby and you can visit the Rhododendron park with approx 2000 trees and bushes - a great spectacle in spring. Bergen with all its sights and attractions, is only an hour drive away.

A visit to Kaupanger stave church (55 km away), built around the year 1140 and one of Norway's oldest stave churches, is recommended. The "Heibergske". Collections – Sogn folkemuseum" in Kaupanger has a wide selection of buildings and objects collected from a large area. Further inside the Sognefjord is Lærdal, 66 km and a ferry ride away from the holiday house, where you can find preserved wooden buildings in the Swiss style.
